...those of you who have customs, what length do you prefer? 3-3/4" seems to be the most common, but I've seen them from 3-1/2" on up to well over 4 inches.

I like 'em all.

The Chamblin is a true gem at 3.5" and is one of my "must have" knives.
The images don't do it justice at all and the size makes it appropriate for most any venue.

Most of the others are 3.75". The Bose is 3 7/8" and I really like its heft and solidity. It's a special knife.

Jerry's knife is 4 1/4" or so and the feel in the hand is amazing.

Well, that was a big help! :p

Elliot, You've got some "PHAT" pigs!! lol. I like them all. But You know which one is my Fav.!! Thanks for sharing.

I really dig the main blade profile on that one Vince. Looks like a pretty thick and solid little piggy

Don't feel bad, Dennis. I've only got one GEC so I've only gotten to play in one of your threads.

As to the fancy English, no worries, I don't know what I mean either! ;)

:D

Man that's quite a parade of pretty piggys! I love em all!

Vince, that Howser Remington bone is downright "salivational" . . . sorry, but I needed to make up a word to accurately describe how I really felt upon seeing your pics!

Here is the lonely one in my collection. As with just about all my knives, it comes with a story, but I will not make it too mushy. ;)

This is another one of Richard Rogers' knives that came from Blade 2009. Elliott was the first one drawn and he kindly gave me the rights. So I am standing there looking at all that eye candy at Richard's table trying to decide which one to pick up. This one came home. Great combination when a friend let's you have his chance from a maker you admire as a person as well as for the work he does. How could I not pick one of Elliott's favorite patterns?

She is a beauty and I'm glad you're enjoying her Gus!:cool:

(Of course you knew I was going to strangle you if you didn't pick the sow.)

Yup, pretty thankful for two things.
1. Elliott gave me his draw.
2. The knife was not ivory, stag or bone. (I don't think number one would have happened!) Blues don't do pearl very often. :D

I was thinking about that my brother. Check the edit I made (under the edit wire.)

Funny, I was just now thinking to myself how we are two sides of the same coin.
I haven't had a pearl knife since the ones I got from Ralph Turnbull and Al Dippold years ago. (Both knives long gone now.)

You might still have got my draw, Gus, but I can only imagine the pound of flesh you might have thought you'd have to give up. :p

Thats a beauty Gus, and a great story as well:thumbup:

Vince, thats a beauty you have to... that bone is amazing:thumbup:

Vince's is especially nice. John did an awesome job with the Remington bone.
This whole thread has some great knives.

In 2009, I coulda given up a pound or two. Would not have hurt too bad. In 2010 something vital might have had to go with that pound. :D

Gus, RR must REALLY be talented . . . I didn't know you could haft a knife in rainbows!

What gorgeous pearl!! Of course, the rest is pretty great as well. Thanks for the story and pictures.
