I voted for the clip point because that’s my personal favorite blade shape, but it looks the best with the sheeps foot bar none.

That spear point is the most traditional looking of the lot so it gets my vote.
I love a good clip point, but this one just makes it appear a bit too modern.

In order of preference for me, Sheeps foot #1, Clip point #2, Spear point #3
And just to be a trouble maker, I'm wondering what a Zulu point would look like in the overall aesthetic of the knife? :)

Interesting project and selections. But, since you are a Knifemaker, why is somebody else making it?

To be frank, that Tantoesque design just looks like a busted tip from prying :D

The others are more suitable particularly the tapering Lambsfoot.

Thanks, Will

I'm wearing the knifemaker/ Service Provider Tag as a Service Provider ;) I've done some things in the area of knifemaking myself but don't think I'm up to a folder

Didn't even know Zulu Point was a thing, haha :D but do I see it correctly that it's basically a slightly recurved spear with the point below the center?
I'll draw one up ;)

Reminds me of a Mnandi or a 940!

Of course, why have one when you can have both!?
Because I'm poor :P nah JK, but I went back to school so I'm a bit on a budget as of now :D but maybe I'll have more made once I'm working again :D

I just counted the votes and if I didn't count wrong it's 18 Sheepsfoot to 19 Clip Point with a few Clip Point voters saying they'd fancy the Sheepsfoot too. Guess the problems I had deciding were justified :D Thanks for you input so far :)

My preference would be one of the straight edges. Sheepsfoot or lambsfoot, with the reverse tanto lagging somewhat. Ordinarily I am no fan of the tanto, but it is not that bad here.

Clip point. For a single blade knife (if your only carry), I find that it’s rhe most useable blade for my uses. Only you can decide for you.

I was wondering about the Zulu also.
Totally forgot about it, sorry! Took some time out today and modeled it up :D also played around a bit so there now it now sports a grooved bolster as well as ... I have no idea what it's called but basically an inlay between bolster and scale :D

Cool, man! That groove looks like it might need to be a bit more narrow so as not to interfere with the pivot. What do you think it would look like with a little more belly on the edge rather than a straight line?

yep, it rendered it somewhat strange, the groove and pivot blend in as is (well they should at least)

You mean the zulu spear with more belly? As is it's recurved slightly from heel on and then turns into the belly towards the tip. The handle has enough space to fit a bit more belly in it towards the tip.

I like your original design and the first clip equally well. I really like the brass bolsters and checkering
Yeah that clip is still haunting me :D I'll have the sheepsfoot version made first but if that turns out nice I think I'll have to get the clip at some point too :D I hope the maker can pull of the checkering nicely

Ummm ... A collaboration? He makes the folder you make and checker the covers?

I could do some jigged covers myself I guess but nothing checkered like that. At least not to my statisfaction (I recently tried something like that on a piece of scrap wood and it wasn't exactly nice to look at :D ).
Also I'd be strange logistically to have him build most of the knife, ship it to me to work on it and then back to him to finish the knife up and then back to me
