Portrait of a Happy Danny - My Sword is here!!!!!!!!

of course, I dig that fullering on it. and the habaki is marvellous! Worth every cent.

For those at the HI MW KK who saw my big arsed Euro war sword, this thing is a good 3 inches longer than that in the handle. And 25+ times more expensive...

Danny, you're sheddin' the pounds! Lookin good.

In anglish 186 is how tall? I'm confused....cm in one sentence, pounds in the next/QUOTE]

2.54cm = 1 inch

:)
To split hairs it is 25.39875409 cm = 1 inch.:p :D

.03937201 = 1 mm. Close enough for government work.;)

Edit to correct ---- 25.39875409 cm = 1 inch.
It Should Be ---- 25.39875409 mm = 1 inch.

.03937201- still equals = 1 mm. And is Still Close enough for government work.:p ;)

Beautiful blade, Danny! And good luck on the diet. I'm fighting that battle as well. I recently joined some friends in Kali stick training to get some cardio in. Ow. :)

Does the scabbard come with a little wheel on the end? It should have one to help you carry it around like those fancy pieces of luggage.

Fine lookin' sword. :)

Yvsa,

You're off by a factor of 10 on the inch/centimeter relationship. That's not even close enough for government work!

;)

Howard I took a nap and woke up thinking that I did just what you say. Damn metric system ennyway.:o Oh well, we all need a good laugh at ourselves once in a while.:D

very funny bruise
you made me burn my bacon.

I have been very lucky and blessed recently.
I hope I can spread it around.

90 cm long blade.
90 cm blade!!!! I realized that was a pretty long blade, but I still have trouble putting length to metric measurements.:grumpy:
I have an 18" stainless steel ruler at my desk that has mms on the opposite side, 457 of 'em. Or 2 full lengths of my ruler is 914 mms or 14 mms longer than DIJ's blade. The inside of my computer desk top is 35 3/8" long, or 1 mm shorter than DIJ's sword blade!!!!

Tack on what, another 10"-12" for the handle and no wonder Bruise is asking if the saya has a wheel on the end of it!!!!  :D

a odachi will have a min of a 13" handle 15" standered )think of it as a short hafted pole arm
DIJ sword is sirasaya (mounted scabbard) basicly unmounted or a naked blade
waiting for fittings ( can't wait to see whAT he does with it )

Holy TOLEDO!!!

I WANT ONE TOO!!!

(Of course I will have to sell myself into endentured serveatude to pay for it.)

It was sold to me by Someya Sensei, the sword teacher of the Bujinkan. He sold it to me at cost via his friends sword shop.
I paid 50% of retail, basically.

good choice, I like stick fighting. The slow work is invaluable for two stick management. Whats a few bruises, eh?

DT - Horse cutting stance: You mean kiba dachi? I always called that Horse stance, but thot it was more of a 'horse riding' stance (neutral balance, feet 4ward, legs wide apart as if in the saddle).
