Possible trade issue?

So what? Ask him him why if you like. But wait until you get it back first. If everything is in order at that point, the point is academic, and arguing further will just stir up bad feeling for no good end.

I've sent a reply stating the following "After we had an agreement? Okay that's fine. Send my knife back in the same condition in which I sent it with tracking number and I will leave feedback"

After you sent this message it was in his best interest to reject the package as it would show he never truly had possession of it. I'm not sure why you would question this after cancelling the transaction. If he signed for it and repackaged it, you could (not saying you would or have considered it) say that it arrived empty and he owes you a knife. Much stranger things have occurred here. By rejecting the package he is saving himself. I wonder why you are so concerned about an empty package after the rejection, it isn't like he could open it then reject it is there?

My advice for future transactions here are relax a bit more and don't be concerned that everybody is out to take from you. You may encounter some less than honorable individuals, I have, but as a whole I have dealt with many, many more great individuals. For every knife that I have been taken for, I have had knives returned at least fourfold- counting giveaways and guys just throwing in extra knives in a deal! If you cannot afford the loss in the grand scheme of things, then I suggest dealing with less value items online. This is a fun avenue to add to knife collecting, try not to let the business of knives ruin it for you. None of the individuals who have taken me were the ones who informed me of delays, everybody who has ever let me know that life got in the way has followed through beautifully in my experience. Good luck getting your package back and in future trades.

I am pretty sure if the package is rejected that means he never had it in his posession to open it.

Did he offer to pay your shipping cost? He should.

You put time and money into this. I wouldn't want to trade with anyone that may back out after I've done my part. I would like to know who it is.

I am concerned about receiving an empty package because it has happened to me in the past just like this is going. The knife in question was a lower end knife compared to others but to me... it was a high value item. Before just recently I carried a cheapo $15 gun show assisted folder. Here recently(last month or 2) I've been getting into the $100-$300 range and to me a loss of that much in a knife just pisses me off. Any loss is a loss regardless of value.

No Ken44, he is not going to reimburse my shipping costs. It sucks, but I really don't care about that. I simply want the knife back so this can be over and done with. I have saved ALL emails between us and if it has not arrived by Friday, I will then forward the emails and name of the member to the Moderators and perhaps post the members name here.

If he "Rejected" the package than he was never in possession of the package and could not have taken anything out of it. Package will be re-routed straight to the sender.

The tracking number on the package does indeed state "Rejected" so hopefully I will have the knife back in my possession by Friday, hopefully Thursday. In that instance I will then either relist the said knife here for sale or I will list it locally. No more trading for me for awhile after this.

Update: Just got back home from Knoxville, Tn(had to pick up my new AR15, OH YEAH!) And when I checked the mailbox, I had a mysteriously familiar package... after opening I found inside a knife that I was scared I had lost. :-) anyways, I think ill post it for sale tomorrow sometime...

Sometimes, We Just Have To Have Faith In People.
You Never Truly 100% Know Who You're Dealing With.
At Least Not Over The Internet.
Some Things Go Smooth, Others Are A Bit Bumpy.
All In All.. Just Because Feedback Is There And People Are Saying "This Person Is Good To Go!" Doesn't Always Mean That Said Person Is Good To Go. And Just Because There Is No Feedback And Things Go A Little More Bumpy Than Usual Doesn't Necessarily Mean That Said Person Is Dishonest.
Life Happens And Things Come Up. Dishonest People Sometimes Try To Win You Over By Being Honest At First, And Honest People Sometimes Have Hiccups That Come Up And It Can Make You Wonder.
When Trading Online, Really It's A Shot In The Dark. You Follow Through, Trust That The Trader Is Honest, And Hope It Turns Out Well.

But, I'm Very Happy It Turned Out Well For You, At Least You Know For Future Reference That Said Member Truly Is Honest, And Just Ran Across Some Bad Luck. :)

The way things have been going around here I would have been nervous too. Glad to hear everything came out okay. All you are out is maybe a few pounds lost from worrying and your time of course. :)

I'm glad you showed enough restraint not to post names. It sounds like he really didn't do anything wrong except be slow to ship, which untimately saved you the cost of returning his knife when he decided to reverse the trade.

Good luck with your sale.
