Thanks guys for all the emails & response from the thread started by Josh G. I am the seller of the knife that he has decided to keep & keep his money. I have sent Josh G a money request & I will keep you informed on what he does. First of I didn't misrepresent the knife when it was for sell. I sold it as a used knife. That I carried on duty & the farm. That was all told to him. I do not sell fake crap. I have bought & sold many knives on here & eBay with only Josh G being a negative experience. I am a big knife collector. Mostly Hinderers & Hinderer high end collaborations. I take pride & honor in my word. That's how I was raised. I have sent Josh G several emails to see if the knife had been returned to him with no response. Thanks for your guys help by sending me information. I thought I was beat out of a $240 knife & still might be.

It's always good to hear the rest of the story. If you read the other thread, then you know how most feel about the whole issue and where the problem lies.

The original thread to which this is a response is here:

The post in which Josh G admitted keeping both the knife and the money, plus grinding on the knife, is here:

Hey, people. I said I was done with this conversation, but I changed my mind so I could tell you all how it ended. No surprise, eBay sided with me and refunded my money. I sent the knife back to the seller using the label that eBay generated, but the seller e-mailed to tell me that the knife was sent to the wrong address and that he wasn't going to refund my money until he got his knife back. Well, first of all, that didn't matter, because eBay/Paypal refunded my money, not him. Second, whose fault is it that the address was wrong? Clearly his, because eBay doesn't set up your address in the system; the user sets up their own address. The seller again e-mailed me to ask if the knife had been returned to me. I told him it had not (because it had not). A week later, though, it showed up on my doorstep. The seller had been pretty nasty about the whole thing, while I had been reasonable, so I'm keeping the knife. Eff him. As for the marks on the blade, I spent a while buffing each side of the blade with a light grit belt, using my Ken Onion Worksharp. It's not perfect, but it's better; I didn't want to be really aggressive and wind up grinding off too much steel. At some point I'll send a few pictures to ZT to verify that the knife is authentic, though when they took a look at the pictures on the eBay listing, they said it appeared to be so.

Josh G is a thief... he even had the gonads to come straight out and brag about it. If he doesn't refund the money ASAP I really hope he is no longer welcome to be a member here. Good luck to Firecowboy getting his money back from this little jerk.

Edit: I just saw that the mods banned Josh G... kudos to them!

Get after him, sir. Don't like anything he said. There must be recourse that's available. Glad that feller is gone.

Very glad to see you come here and give us the rest of the story brother!!
Like I said in the e mails I sent you, we kinda figured him out pretty quickly and we're all hoping you get paid for the knife from this whiny bitch.
Joe

Good to hear. I sent you an email as well, I just cannot stand people like Josh. His thread honestly rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning, not a bit surprised by the ending.
Hopefully you are not the nasty guy he was portraying and by the sounds of things, you are not.

I would forward all info to ebay and paypal and hopefully he will get banned at ebay as well.

Get a gold membership and sell on the exchange here and less likely to go wrong. Plus, you will save on the listing fees as it adds up quick. People here care, as you can see.

Thanks for sharing your story with us, cowboy. I saw that you got your lasso tangled up with one self righteous little bitch. This is just a stark reminder for all of us, that these people do exist. If our business intuition doesn't guide us to cull these sick mavericks from the get go, any one of us could wind up on the losing end of a business deal. Welcome to BF, and I hope that you can get a fair resolution in the end.

^ Welcome to BladeForums, Cowboy!

As you already know, it was one of BF's Super Mod's (RevDevil), who re-posted the link to the EBay transaction. Many member's here were very vocal, after Josh had the audacity to come back on here & update/openly confess, to what he had done to you.

When I was able to see the actual EBay sale which you had listed, read the description, along with the detailed pictures & the fact that you've been a solid EBay member, since 2-2007 with (432) 100% positive feedback; I sent you that EBay message with the link here.

I'm sure I was only one of many! :)

Hopefully, now that you have a documented confession (from Josh himself), along with a timeline with helpful facts presented in the GKD thread, this will be much easier for EBay to correct, and you'll be refunded the money. Factor in, that Josh admitted to grinding on your knife, I can't imagine they won't.

And in this case, it definitely helped, having a person openly confess just how far off his moral compass is.

^ Your comment reminded me of one of my all-time favorite, good ole cowboy stories. And, it's up in your neck of the woods! :)

Here's the awesome video news story of a cowboy lassoing a thief!

Well brothers Ebay just told me they wasn't going to help me. Paypal won't step in due to it being a ebay sell from what I was told. Josh G won't even return my emails or pay the money request through paypal. Looks like Brusiedmeat is right & just get a membership here & only sell here. I want to say thanks to all those that sent me emails & support. I guess some us wasn't raised with morals & ethics. Those of us that were lay our life on line to protect them & they get to treat us like s**t.

Are you kidding me? EBay, IS PayPal!

Don't let this go, Cowboy. Take this up as high as you can go, and just be polite! Hopefully, you'll get an opportunity to speak to the right person (somebody with some common sense).

Crappy situation all around. I hope this guy does the right thing and makes you whole, but that doesn't look promising. Good luck.

I think it is about time to out this thief. Post his name in the title of this thread and his name and shipping address in the first post. It might at least let future buyers and sellers know who not to deal with.

EBay and PayPal separated awhile back. Still, doesn't make sense they would not help, because it shouldn't matter where the knife was purchased from, as long as it was paid with paypal .

Yup. Time for name and address. It can be removed if he does the right thing.

Dont give up on talking with paypal if a credit card was involved. If putting preasure on paypal won't help your credit card might.

Please tell me that friggin dip stick is NOT going to get away with this.
Ugh

I think it says in paypals user agreement seller protection doesn't apply to transactions done through Ebay.
