All my damascus is made from Aldo's 1084 and 15n20 and is rough ground. If you need to straighten the steel I suggest you do it while hot or at a minimum normalize the bar first; my straightening press hardens the steel. I can have the steel properly normalized or annealed by Randy Dewey. The cost is $13-$20. Heat treatment instructions are available on my web site or I can print a copy upon request.

225 layer random pattern.

The bars are whetted with oil to help show the pattern.

Pattern on large bar

Large bar, there is a slight dip on one side that measures .13 but would be removed by grinding the bevel. Seen in top picture on the left side. The entire bar is damascus, just too large for my etching tank.
14"x1.5"x.171"
$175

Small bar
4.7"x1"x.17"

Bump.

I'm considering cutting the large bar of raindrop pattern into bolster sized bars. It would be two pieces 1.5"x1" for $25 or two pieces of 1.5"x1.25" for $30. Would anybody be interested in some?
