If I had the opportunity you had, I would not be using them either and would probably just as anal. (Lord knows enough people have accused me of it over the years) While I save my boxes (at least for the past few years) the older 110's that I have are not new. The first few versions, while in great shape for their age, are used.Buck_110 said:Mike:
You're correct! I can't believe you carry them. LOL! I could not bring myself to carry any of my collectible 110s. I have spent 20 years building the collection I have. I am super anal as you can tell. Then again, I never saw a U-Haul following a hearse.
The reason I have all museum quality specimens is that I have worked in high end gun stores for many years. Stores that carried Belgium Brownings, German Weatherbys, Colt Sauers, etc. I could never afford these spectacular firearms; some of those Brownings with a jumping off point of $7,500.00! However I was able to afford the Buck knives. I was allowed to cherry pick from dozens of each model in store inventory to pick the absolute best specimens. And I got them at cost! So, I picked the very best specimens. This meant getting stag and bone handle scales that actually matched, getting knives with incredible snap, NO blade play in the open position, blades that sit dead center between the liners when closed, etc. Naturally, I also chose the best boxes, the most perfect paperwork, the cleanest sheaths, etc. I have been afforded this luxury since the early eighties. Since I was the first to touch these babies when they arrived, nothing was mixed up from displays, or handled by customers and dropped, scratched, mauled, swapped, or mixed up.
So after all these years, I have plenty of Buck knives and own only two firearms, both of which are .22 rifles. The rifles are users.

Never heard it before.
I can relate to that but that's a whole different forum...like the "Almost died but He keeps throwing me back" Forum.
Thanks for the quote that I will be using Buck_110
Hey Michael...
You actually cut something with most of those? Resharpened? They look mint...can't see any blade scratches. Maybe like me, you use the knicer knives more gentle than the others. Like my 298GY, it really gets used....but now that I think of it, it's still in good shape.
Kust wondering about some of your finest of the fine.
Inquiring Goose.

Is it possible that they used 1992 blades but actually sold them in 1993? Lord knowes they've used old blades on other occassions.Pack Rat said:My smooth black 560 is also tang stamped 1992.
As an interesting tidbit...signed by Chuck Buck, with no date as he usually does, on front, and Elgin Thomas 8-27-93 #23 on the back side. I guess #23 is Elgin Thomas BCCI # ????
The only way I can imagine that would be possible is with a magnifying glass and a needle.Pack Rat said:It should be like that. But unfortunately someone took what looks like may be a black sharpie and colored it in. I have debated about trying to clean that out of their names. I think it would have been more historic left shiny. Just me...

Mountains? What direction does a crow fly? No good at riddles...Mike Kerins said:Actually, San Diego is about 5 miles north of Chula Vista (estimate) and adjacent to and to the south of Chula Vista. Go figure that one out. I tell you how after you scratch your head for a while.![]()

Sometime back in the 60's, the town of San Ysidro by the border was in financial straights. San Diego decided to annex it into the city. It is connected to the rest of the city by the bay. Everything south of Chula Vist all the way to the Mexican border is within the City of San Diego.Pack Rat said:Mountains? What direction does a crow fly? No good at riddles...![]()
