Post pics of your Swamp Warden Wraps here.

I thought a thread dedicated to the Swamp Warden would be cool. Here is one of mine and it's new wrap (with our new reflective cord) More pics to come soon

Bully, those are sweet. You must have really paid attention in Boy Scouts. You're the "Knot Master". You need to put together a tutorial. You said the reflective paracord is "ours". Are you selling that at the store. I like it. I'd love to see come camo pattern 550 with reflective thread mixed in. Great for the hunting woods.

Here's another one I just finished, my last one for today. Red reflective cord, single wrap. They all feel pretty good in the hand, my favorite is probably the first one.

Interestingly I just taught myself how to "tie" in the last couple of years. I was never a Boy Scout but now wish I was. I have several books on knots and braiding and they are fun to try. The reflective cord I just bought yesterday and the "We" is my daughter and I. She does all the lanyards for the Busse Company Store and she sells at Blade, Knob Creek etc. I don't have any Camo Reflective but that is a good idea. If I place a big order I'll try to see if I can get some of that.

:D:D

Nice job Eric. I especially like the first one. Does the swamp now offer reflective cord for sale? It there metallic content in the cord that makes it reflective.

For my Warden, I have a Rainwalker sheath coming, but until I get it, obviously, I can't carry it. When the time comes, I've been thinking about tennis racket tape for the handle. Won't be pretty, but will be functional.

Thank you for this thread guys. I finally scored a SW and was getting ready to start a thread about this very thing. Until I used the search feature that is. ;)

RF: I really like how you did yours. It leaves more of a front/finger guard. I like that. Is there a name for that type of wrap? I want to try that one out.

What do you guys use for sheaths with those wraps? Looks like a kydex sheath would need to be wider.

What books do you have or recommend? I need to learn this!

are there books?

Nice wraps Rat. Wow.
Thank you sir!

Tutorial please.

if you look at the brown wrapped one here:

I started at the little "finger" along the front of the top spine. I pulled about 3/4 of an inch of core out of the cord and cut it off, then let the core pull back inside so there was a starting section that is gutted. I laid the gutted section along the inside of the top bar, then started wrapping it around very tightly. after a small distance, I started going around both bars as can be seen in the pic, basically doing a figure 8 pattern and keeping it as tight as possible. I would try to mash and compress the cord towards the front of the knife each time through, for a tighter weave. then when you get to the end, try to figure out a way to finish it without making a lump. the green one comes through and sticks out along/between the cords of the lanyard, and the brown one is kind of different but equally makeshift.

Not much of a tutorial, I know :D Hope it helps a little.

Thanks for the heads-up Rat, I just duplicated your wrap in OD 550 paracord on my black SW. Just need to make a black and green sinnet and I'll post a pic.

I may have to wrap another one, I like Rat's wrap so much.

Great work. I can't wait to see more pics
