Copy and paste those cords into Google earth. If you guys don't have Google earth, you should download it. It's free. It's an awesome way to get an idea of the terrain you're getting ready to get on.

it's in Linville Gorge off spence ridge trail. Lots of good fire wood, it's a short but steep hike in so there's not many people. If there are lots of people, you can just go further. As you can see if you're using google earth, that river goes for a long ways.

Ok, I wanna see everyone elses spots.

Sweet location, but I am not going to give up my secret fishing hole. But I will give up my deer stand 46°19'12.56"N, 92°43'36.35"W

Post your favorite fishing hole, camp site, deer stand, whatever, and find 20 people there the next time you visit. No thanks, I'll pass.

I like FlashEarth.com for my online map viewing

The elevation is 8,400 ft.

The campground, among Ponderosa, Aspen, Spruce, Cottonwoods and juniper trees, is composed of two loops - Upper and Lower. The Lower Loop is adjacent to the fast-moving Conejos River with some sites next to the river. This is a pleasant and attractive
campground that is excellent for both the transient and destination camper.

A good day trip is the Cambres and Toltec Scenic Railroad (steam) which offers a 64-mile journey through abandoned mining towns. One access to the train is at Antonito, CO, about 13 miles from the campground. Call (719) 376-5483 for information and
reservations.

Has anyone been to the Rio Grande National Forest??
It's pretty scenic
But watch out for the damn skeeters!!!!

I've only got Google Maps to work with here but -34° 55' 22.11", +150° 23' 4.84" is one of my favourite car camping spots.

I forgot
Anyone got an online "converter" for converting from MINUTES to decimal point??
Like 32' 45" 32"" to 32.547237290 type thing....

One of my favourites, this site is between Mt Asgard and Mt Thor (pictured below) in Auyuittuq National Park on Baffin Island. I'll be heading back there this summer for a two week solo hike after a 13 year absence, I can't wait!

Paranoid nothing, it's true, once people get wind of a nice area, especially if it has easy access, it soon becomes a dumpy area crowded with idiots. Especially here in California.

Take Wishon resevior for example. Only a dirt rode went to it when my dad was a teenager, and he would go up there with his parents and be the only ones up there, other than PG&E workers. Then they paved the rode when I was young, and all the Fresnoins found out about it and that it was only an hour away, now you can't even get a camping spot unless you show up in the middle of the week. Fu**ing people.

If I had a nice spot that few people knew about, the last thing I would do is tell someone much less post it on the internet. I am currently looking for a new camping/fishing spot that has few visitors, but it seems hard to come buy because there are so many people that few areas haven't been raped by the masses.

Well, I'm not paranoid:p, only car camping anyway:(. A nice spot still.

Hmmm...stingray, that is so true. Around here those places are called Stave Lake and Hale Creek.

My favorite is a 10km hike from sea level up to a pass at about 1800ft then back down to about 1200ft to get to an absolute jewel of a lake on an island accessible only by water taxi. No plastic shopping bags, no beer cans, no picnic tables scavenged for firewood...
I posted a thread about it last fall but I'll share the coords as well, albeit a little reluctantly:

Here's a pic from the SE shore:

nothing flash , roadside pull off where you got cold shower , his n hers dunny , a creek with fish and yabbies at back of it , a couple mango trees growing just in the bush barely 3 mtres off the track on the way to town ..... towns a short walk away ... such as townis anyway , one pub , one general store one post office ... who wants more anyway ?

means a lot to me cos its not far from Cooktown , or from Mossman , or from any of the outback places in between we like to go ... that , and my people been stopping thru there for at least a couple hundred years

yeah , me too .. try and get up there every year or two if we can tho :)
