I recently got one of those, but haven't used it much yet (I don't have a sheath for it..). If you get the chance, check out the Custom Golok that David makes (see pics above). It is a much, much, lighter version of the DC. I wear the Custom almost everyday around the land... of course now I have a Bush Beater too, and so I can't decide what to wear:D.
 
My only golok. A Fox Military Knives Golok. Very sharp, very light and fast. The handle is a lot more ergonomic than it looks.

Well that's different! If it works well, that's all that matters. Interesting design.
 
I like that Fox. One of these days I will need to hunt one down for testing :)
 
Just did this prototype today. It's 13 3/4" overall with a 9" blade, 8 3/4" cutting edge, 4 3/4" handle. It's 3/16" thick by 1 3/4" wide A2 steel.

Dr. Mudd - I looked at those Fox blades a while back, I was concerned about the grip, good to hear that they are hand friendly, got any action shots?

Big Mike - Is that a special run or a prototype?
 
Here is one I have been working on
Forged 1084 with convex grind. I took it for a test run this weekend, worked well. The handles need final shaping and the blade needs final polish.

She did all my work to make fire, and other chores. Chops like a hacet (forgive my spelling, it flat sucks). and it carved some pointy stick and some other stuff pretty well.
I leaned the handle need trimming down a little more then I though.

I should have taken some picks of it in use, live and learn

The said thing is it needs to find a home and can't keep them all. It was an order that some one backed out on when there car went south.
 
That's a sweet piece of steel right there! I doubt you'll have it hanging around for much longer after those photos! :D :thumbup:

I have 2 questions
1) what is the blade at the bottom?
2) how did it perform?
I've seen simmilar ones on sale locally, and I've been wondering wheather to pull the trigger.
 
I currently do not own a golok, but have been 'eyeing' the Martindale Golok, which is standard issue in the British Army.
