Post Up Your NEW Gear ...

Mad props to ya Warden!

Snowshoes and I do NOT get along. As our instructor put it "jeeezus...you walk like a cat with tape stuck to its paws".

I picked up a Mountain Hardware Lamina 35F degree sleeping bag along with a few other things. Guess I should get a picture of it, but I didn't think about it when I shot the video.

6.1 oz running pack- Ultimate Direction AK "Race" pack- bottles are > than bladders for me- one I like to have one bottle mixed w/ Perpetuem on long runs, that usually means a handheld and if possible I prefer not to run w/ a handheld- two easier to know where you sit w/ your water supply, three easier to fill and easier to purify- finding a two bottle, vest style pack wasn't easy, until now

the little pack holds a lot of gear (enough for almost any daylong adventure) and it carries like a dream!

6.1 oz running pack- Ultimate Direction AK "Race" pack

Nice! My buddy just picked up the SJ, and I'm pretty sure I'll end up with the PB next month if sizing works out. SJ if not. We can all exchange notes, haha. Do you think those holders could hold a 600ml smart water bottle well? I'd like to use bottles that can thread on my Saywer if possible. I'm with you on the bottle>bladder too

^ I'm 99% sure they would, the holders are a stretch mesh- so as long as they aren't overly long- almost any 20-ish oz bottle should fit :)

Yeah, I figured they should, and the pockets are deep enough that I don't NEED the bottles to be locked in with the cinch cord, but it'd be nice. How's the sloshing with partially full bottles? You must get used to it after a while?

When you get the chance sometime, can you do a contents break down? I'd be interested to see what you carry in the 6L guy, maybe help me re-evaluate my own kit.

don't really notice the sloshing, but then again I've headphones on most of the time :)

the little pack really holds a lot more than would meet the eye, I use the two upper front pockets for a camera and Clif blocks, the lower front pockets for electrolytes and Clif blocks

the small rear pockets I keep my phone and keys in one, the other has a small fire kit, whistle, small knife and headlamp

the main pocket goes a 2 person heatsheet, Buff, beanie, gloves, windshirt, extra food, TP, small fak- all fit w/o any problem- there was still quite a bit of room and that's not even using the outer bungee setup (where it would be easy to stow a rain jacket)- I was wearing my windshirt the other day and easily fit in my R1 vest rolled up- I know my light down jacket would fit as well

I ordered a 1 liter Platypus Hoser (it also accommodates a bladder) for long runs w/o water sources (contemplating running across Joshua Tree NP in March)- it would steal some away some volume though

I bought some things for my falcon 2 BOB recently. I got an ontario Rat 1 (amazing), a fenix ld 20, an atac Plx light, a gsi canteen cup, tinder quick, and a camp pillow. All thanks to Christmas money.

That is a purdy bow you got there. I keep catching myself looking at recurves. One of these days...
