Post Up Your NEW Gear ...

Thanks! I have an uncontrollable addiction to Robertson bows. Works of art that also perform very, very well.

I wouldn't want to tread on it with it all open like that:o
Cool knife.

$17 new at an Army surplus store. ECWCS Generation 3 Level 2 grid fleece bottoms. They're really for work, because I need a heavy bottom layer sometimes, and finally threw out the original issue ECWCS expedition weight stuff I'd had for 22 years.
Very funky, extremely high waisted, and long-limbed fit for a Medium Regular(especially for someone who needs a Short!)-I may see if the waistband can be altered to a couple of inches lower.

I've been having a flashlight upgrading spree, moving away from lithium-ion and to mostly AA lights. The three on the left are new over the last two weeks, with the Eagletac SX25A6 arriving today. The Eagletac is amazing!

The Nitecore EA4W is haunting me. So difficult to not purchase!

I like it, although I have a few reservations - if you frequent CPF you'll probably already know.

The power button is quite easily pressed accidentally, so the flashlight can easily be switched on while packed or in a pocket or pouch.

The only easily possible lock-out is the official method of holding the button down when switching off for over a second. The problem with that is it only takes another long press to deactivate the so-called lock-out and turn the flashlight on again... see above!

If the lock-out is not used when turning off the flashlight, it continually drains power relatively quickly for something supposedly turned off. Typing this has reminded me that I did not use lock-out when I last used the flashlight this morning - I have just had to go back to it and do the lock-out.

From lockout, it does take a long press to power up again, so if you want light right now as I actually did a few days ago, there is a frustrating couple of seconds fumbling with the light.

Even so, I still like the light. Why can manufacturers never get things right first time though??? It's so frustrating. It's not exactly rocket science!

Anyway, I spotted a deal and ordered a second EA4 for about $46 delivered, so I can compare my first neutral white version to the normal cool LED.

I just picked up a Zebralight SC600. Should get it in a day or two.

Nice - a Zebralight (in AA) is probably going to be my next purchase for close-up floodlit work. Probably a high CRI one.

Oooohhh... Orange PM2!! I've stopped buying knives, but I might make an exception for that one. Was it a limited run? I'm guessing so with the steel.

Also got my Fallkniven WM1 back with Kiahdex sheath, will add pics later. Quilt should be arriving later this month.

Thanks, M! I only have experience trying on the Exos 58 (coming from a Talon 44), but the ULA feels much more comfortable for my body. With weight in the Exos 58, I felt like the frame dug a bit too much into my lower back. I absolutely love the hipbelt on the ULA, it's really well done, especially with the top and bottom adjustment straps and the large side pockets. The pack is also adjustable for torso length within the size. I love the giant non-mesh side pockets, roll top closure without a lid, 500d cordura (their new Robic 210 was tempting, but I ultimately decided on the 500d Cordura since it only gave a 1oz penalty while offering good abrasion resistance and multicam for a little something different for me), and overall construction. This pack should be great for Sierra bear canister trips.

I've only had time to load it up and adjust fit at home, but so far it feels excellent! Can't wait to get some solid dirt time with it. :)
