Here is the first of the season at my place this year.
It was in a cool coil sunning itself. He's a little dull in color and didn't shed yet.
Last Summer I saw a mating pair of these which were larger.

Cripes Tony - those N. watersnakes are nasty - how you manage to hold onto that thing?

excellent thread! i don't have any snake pics yet (in the wild that is. i had several for pets but now down to one).

p.s. don't mean to offend but snakes are venomous. venom is injected as opposed to poison which is ingested...just my pet peeve since i'm a snake guy :o:D

I really wish I did have some pics of the MANY Rattlesnakes that I've ran into throughout my life. Up in Northern California Rattlesnakes are everywhere! If you see dry grass, brush, the central valley, or the foothills of the Sierras you can guarantee they are there and not friendly. If your out in summer you better have a shotgun handy otherwise you might not make it very far.

Dam these things are pretty bad ass...
They will come for you to attack and bite you when most snakes would lye still and try to avoid conflict.

No.

Sadly, for 2010, it has been the year without the camera! I've only got these guys from today:

is that an albino honduran? Nice!

I haven't seen a snake in the wild since I was about 7 years old :(

We were on holiday in the lake district, walking on a narrow path on a hill. Came round a corner and there was a grass snake, or adder, not sure which, coiled up in the middle of the path. It slid off into the bracken as soon as we approached.
