Received my Rinkhals yesterday and I’m very impressed with it (not that I was expecting anything less). It has very crisp walk and talk. I was hoping to carry it clipless, but it had already made its mark on the Ti scale underneath, so I put it back on. The similarities with the Mnandi are apparent but they are quite different in action, the Mnandi obviously being a framelock and able to be opened one-handed. I really like how AB and CRK share a lot of the same design elements but still manage to show off different strengths. Hope everyone has a great weekend ahead.

Thanks. I’ve never seen a side by side. I think I prefer the AB blade shape there.

Indeed. In South Africa it’s called perlemoen. Although there are many species of abalone. NZ paua is the most colourful abalone.

I might be heading to South Africa mid year. Really lusting after that mottles brown-white dyed scale. Love it! On a Rinkals. Beastly snakes those. Where I grew up though the Mambas were the common snake. Very dangerous. Killed many in my day

I think the dyed tusk is my favorite inlay on either of the AB folders. Very nice looking in person. Here is my Rinkhals with dyed tusk, couple other shots too.

I also really like the dyed warthog tusk…this was my second ABK folder purchase. Hand picked. It reminds me of mainland with islands coming off it in a milky white ocean.

That’s great too. It feels so unique. I don’t know if I’d go dyed or plain warthog. Certainly either is far nicer than elforyn.

I've run this with its washers for some time now and it is almost as smooth as when I have its ball bearings installed (it came with a set of each from the AB mothership). Damn, I love this knife.

This is the 1st AB that I've ever purchased. It's a very nice knife and am pleased to add it to my collection.

I barely touched it but still it drew blood

First time sharpening it as long as we don't count stropping.
Regardless, I really like this steel as it takes a nice keen edge with ease and now, after I finished stropping, it is very scary sticky sharp. I love this knife even more now.
