No biggie in the "states" but a near impossible find here in europe

Just picked up a BK2. It's in process of being modded. I have made some slight spine cuts in it and have done a vinegar patina to it. I am in process of making a set of scales and a leather sheath for it. But here's where I am at so far.

The BK5 is such a good looking knife. For years the only thing holding me back was the finger choil.

Fast forward to to today...I totally get it now. This design makes complete sense and so does the choil.

molokaiRider first of all let me say I love your posts on Hawaii life. One of my favorite topics to follow. I think I’m going to get a 16 because of your posts.
So the Bk2.... I don’t think I’ve ever had more fun with a knife than this one. The Scrama is a close second, but I love how compact the 2 is. It goes everywhere with me. I’ve beat the hell out of it, just for fun. I took it camping this summer and did almost all my camp stuff with it. It really isn’t the most sensible of knives, isn’t the best at anything, but it can do anything you want. You should just get one and I’ll get a 16. Can’t go wrong with a Becker.

The 5 is a tough one for me. I really liked the choil is why I don’t use it. I got used to it one weekend when I just took the 5 along. When I went back to the 9/2/7 I kept choking up onto what I thought was going to be a finger choil but ended up just being sharp blade. I bring it out still for bbq sometimes but don’t really take it into the woods anymore. Awesome knife. Actually swings and chops way beyond what you’d think.

Sell me on the BK2. Why do I need one?

It's a piece of history. It might be the longest lived BK&T production model. If it isn't yet; it's likely to be when the dust settles. (Most of the early designs have been discontinued. Pretty sure the Campanion is the only one from the Blackjack era still being produced).

I don't remember if I have 3, or 4. One Blackjack, one Camillus...and one or two Kabars. I think might be two - one stamped, one etched. (I had a bad case of Becker fever for a while.) It might actually be HAD, at this point, because I've sold & gifted some of my Beckers (might even have lost a BK16 or two). The sad thing is that I've never used a BK2 - I planned on it a number of times; but always grabbed a longer or thinner blade. I was rummaging through the Becker case yesterday; so I've got a pile of knives to put away. If I've still got the etched 2, I'm going to leave it out for some work/play I've got planned for the weekend.

Sure wish Mr. Ethan would make a 2 with at least a 7" blade 9" might be better? I bet it would be a hell of chopping tool and log splitter Please !

The 2 is one Sweet Blade
