considering i am wanting to rmove that awful thumb ramp...what's the best way to do so? i have an angle grinder....prolly my only way right now.

I used a hacksaw (went through 2 32tpi blades) to remove it from the 7, then a little dremel and a lot of worksharp to smooth it out.
Prolly shoulda went with 24tpi.

30 minutes on a Wilton belt sander with 60 grit. Popped off the scales so the blade lays flat. Nice even grind on the whole spine. Would actually take about 10 minutes of hawging but I wanted to keep the blade cool. If you have a hand held belt sander you can level the blade in a vice with just the ramp sticking above the jaws and work it down nice and even.
