I can't seem to bring myself to do those kind of mods. I'll do visual mods (different scales, stripped, etc)but I don't think I've ever altered or removed metal from a knife before, I just ain't got the cajones to do so I guess!
Bravo you do excellent work on your blades. You'd be No different removing metal. Just keep the heat low and your patience high.

My wife, daughter, and I did an hour on the trails in Trailview State Park in Woodbury, NY today.

Got a good hour hiking up and down hills. Nature therapy indeed. Some pics...
