Very nice, Gentlemen

I had a BK7 Extreme, and a Crewman that I sold or traded

Still have a BK-71 Tan and a newer BK-7

A magnum camp shall be coming soon - good show on re-introducing another hard use model

A desert camo paint job and micarta grips would hit the spot!

It pains me that there is a BK3 a BK5 and a BK14 out there with no family to stay with...They will eventually have to join my family....

My new BK14 that Moosez sent me for winning his contest. Haven't named her yet though.

First thing was to strip the blade, then polish it as good as I could get it. It was pretty close to a mirror finish, but the grind marks in parts of it were too deep for me to get out without using a lower grit of sandpaper, and 400 was the lowest I had. Then I squared up the spine, and cord wrapped the handle. Next I need to heat up the sheath and smoosh it down to conform to the knife a little better and get rid of that looseness in there.

I'm really diggin' the patina you put on it. What did you use for it?

A mixture of horseradish, French's Yellow Mustard, and white vinegar. Had to make a very thin mixture, the thick mixture just brushed off when I went to clean it.

Here is my BK11 right after I got it.

Batoning some Sugar Maple, split through it with ease!

Then I re-wrapped the para cord handle and made a leather sheath.

horseradish is some tuff stuff for doing a patina.....
