I think The Warrior could take a picture of an old sock and we would say, Nice Knife, brother.
You should be the official Becker Photog.
I want to give your parang some good lovin'. Oh how I would love to hold and use that. Please tell me dirty stories and specs about it.
pushes knife into lake. bye byei have scuba gear you know.

Sorry Ogre, but there is absolutely no way I will ever let you hold my Parang, and I'm sure my wife would not approve of it either!:barf:
However I'm happy to share picture,s (but no private tweets like Rep. Anthony Weiner) and specs. (It's big).
All innuendo and kidding aside, it's a David Farmer custom Golok. 19 in OAL, 13 1/2" blade. Steel is 1095. Handle is cherry. It comes with David's legendary super sharp convex edge.
When I think Golok, a big ole heavy chopper like the Condor or Bark River Golok (the only other one I've owned) comes to mind, but this one is a little more machete-like.
While it can definitely do some chopping, it's 3/32" thickness makes it very quick to swing. I recently had it out for some for trail clearing. In this first picture you can see how it cleanly cut through a maple sapling in one swipe.

I also used it to clear out some overgrowth.

Finally, I used it to chop through some hard as crap dead-fall blocking the trail:

So there you go, a dirty story. While my Bk-9 is still a better pure chopper, we all know every blade has it's place, and my Farmer Golok has a place very close to my heart.
