Post your CRK carry knife for today.

This is actually the prescribed method that they used to include on a paper in the box. Now its just on their website.

Awesome post.

If I'm understanding this, you press up (or towards the pivot) on a Zaan's thumbstud (instead of away from the scale). If so, I'll probably love it.

That's how I've always opened Regulars. A fella can because the cookie monster cutout gives me enough room to get the thumb under the stud instead of wedging the thumb between the stud and scale (like 21s and 31s).

I think I'm beginning to understand this better also.

To add to what was mentioned in that post and drawing (thanks again, Clay), as I slide my thumb along the chamfer (towards the end of the handle), just before reaching the lug, the chamfer has a slight curve that, as the thumb connects with the lug, the thumb changes vector slightly towards the point of the handle directly out from the pivot. That vector change as you connect with the lug begins the opening of the blade. Compared with sliding along the handle, there is some extra resistance at this point as you overcome the detent holding the blade closed. (That resistance seems to reduce over time.) To continue, as your thumb passes the point of the handle out from the pivot, keeping it connected with the lug will have it rotate the blade around the pivot to fully open. (Or, to rephrase this another way, the curve of the chamfer your thumb slides along almost has your thumb scoop the lug away from the handle to open the blade.)

Repeating this pattern is making it a bit easier, though I'm still not sure it will reach the ease of the Inkosi. I'll keep at it (at all of them).

I must need to change my camera settings - new iPhone and the files are too large to upload direct. I may know a thing or two about CRK’s but technology is not something I excel at. Doh!
I’m not sure if this might help, but when I upload photos I do these items when I select a photo. IMG_6757.jpeg
These convert HEIC format into a more common format and also compresses the photo a bit.

Hope this helps.

Really nice pocket worn loved look to that.
Hard to beat a worn Crk
I never have been. Im new to this collecting thing. Pretty much always been a 1-2 knife guy.

Same boat. I didn't even know you could rotate your carry until I started nosing about here.

I used to rotate almost daily. I always liked how Kettleman Kettleman could stick with a couple knives. I’ve slowly come around to keeping the same knife in the pocket for a while. Now I still have more than I need but as far as rotating I do prefer to keep it the same for a while

It’s funny, back in the day I would watch you rotate every day and I admired all awesome knives you had at your disposal and I just didnt think I could do that. I really remember someone loaning you a 25, a WC maybe, years ago and thinking how cool that was.
Im finding myself kinda heading back to the everyday knife in the 21 insingo and still collecting the other Sebenzas.

Yep, sure did. It was a 25 WC. A guy here sold it to another guy, the buyer had him send it to me first to try it out before sending it to him
