Post your favorite Tanto(s)!!!

Thanks Dodge for the explanation. Here are mine, a Cold Steel and a BM 700. I carry the Cold Steel quite a bit but the Benchmade just hasn't appealed to me yet due to the flat smooth cold aluminum handle. I swapped for it a while back, since I didn't have a Benchmade and I wanted one.

After looking at all these photos (thanks fellas), I really like the rounded blade profiles instead of the two straight angles like I've got, since the straight angles don't clean fish too well - at least I haven't figured out how. They'd be killer in a fight, though.

I was never really a fan of the Tanto blade until I bought one...now I buy them often:D

I have a few, mostly folders, but no pix. This one is a CS Recon Tanto in Carbon V. I replaced the handle, made a minor error on it, so I gave it a newer, uglier, fubar'd handle for it, but the handle is comfortable and the blade performance is unchanged. But the bluing turned out OK. This is a case where the surgery was worse than the ailment.

I think that looks pretty solid myself!

Man those are gorgeous....

How do you like the ZT0700? It's not nearly as stout as most of the ZT's, but it's still nice. It's quite sharp for a ZT (the blade is thinner).
I like the design except for one, the tip up only carry, and for two, the blade itself stops short and the gap hangs up when cutting.

For me, I feel the design / tip of a tanto makes for a better utility knife. I prefer the tanto blade profile to a more traditional rounded profile. This is just my personal preference. I also like the straight cutting edge that's on most tanto's.

I currently do not own any "true" tanto's - They're all Americanized which is fine. I plan on getting the reincarnation of the Bob Lum Tanto when it's released here soon. I missed out on getting one years ago. I will most definitely get one this time. I'm almost glad I missed the AUS8 one...I'd much rather have VG10.

Who is making the Bob Lum Tanto reincarnation? Will it be a Spyderco? When is it scheduled to be released?
