Not too long ago I pulled out my little kershaw chive at work to open a package, and a female coworker looked over and exclaimed "oh my god! You can't have that here, it's a weapon!!" She then reached in a drawer and pulled out a large handled razor utillity knife and said "Here, use this"
I just looked at her like she was slow, and told her no thanks my "weapon" works just fine, and by the way, that blade your holding is probably more dangerous than my little folder.
-Another time here at work a lady saw that I was on a forum dedicated to knives. She got all concerned and asked me "Do you have some kind of knife fetish? ...Are you a cutter? That's scarry, but there is a hotline you can call to get help for that." ....uuuuhhhh WTF?![]()
Did it ever happen to you?
Lots of threads on this already, of course.
Some people freak at the sight of a knife outside of the kitchen. Some knife knuts like to freak out the sheeple by waving impressive blades around unnecessarily.
Hah, that made me laughOnce in my junior year of highschool, I was on the For sale section here looking at an xm-18. The next day I got called down to the office and the principle brought up a screen shot of it. "why are you looking at this? This is a weapon! You can get detention for this!" He proceed to make me empty my pockets (i wasn't carrying any of course) and phoned my mother. She explained that I am a collector and sharpener.
My mother then called my father and my father called the principle. Evidently, my Father was screaming at the principle saying, "What do you think he is going to do? Give someone a papercut!?"..... I didn't get detention![]()
This post is worthless without pictures! LOLI had a great one in a first-year philosophy class.
We ended up breaking up into groups and having a class discussion about a) schools banning head dress on school grounds, but allowing Muslim students to wear the hijab, and b) schools allowing Sikh students to carry their Kirpan on school property while simultaneously banning other knives from the premises. This discussion got pretty heated, with many Sikh and Muslim students participating in the discussion, but it generally stayed quite civil.
At one point, the girl seated next to me spoke up and said, "Look, as far as I'm concerned, anyone who carries a knife around with them, religious or not, is a f**king PSYCHO. I mean, like, seriously, what kind of freak carries a weapon??? Hellooo!"
Then she turned to me and said, "You know what I mean, right?"
I replied, "Oh, I totally agree. I don't understand why more schools don't have a zero tolerance policy for that kind of thing. I mean, kids walking around with weapons? That's just unacceptable!"
All while my Kershaw Cyclone was clipped to my pocket...![]()
