I've been thinking about getting one of those for my brother, but wasn't sure which. Which do you prefer and why, if you don't mind? :D

Oh man. You're going to make me pick between my two favorite knives. :p To be honest, the Manix XL is a very different knife to the Native 5. I always have my Native on me. It's a great knife as far as feeling in the hand and blade size are concerned. The three inch blade is large enough to handle most EDC tasks without being intimidating to non knife people. If I had to carry only one knife it'd be the Native.

The Manix XL is my favorite large knife by far. The ergos and blade shape are just as awesome as the Native, but in a bigger package for bigger tasks. I like big knives, and usually carry a large primary, but I'd be hesitant to pull the Manix XL out in public.

The standard Manix 2 may be a good compromise between the two... But for now I'll carry both the above. :)

This is my (not so) little work in progress. I really wanted a waved knife, but couldn't justify shelling out the bucks for one. This certainly scratched that itch.
