Post your Spyder Pics

My old school collection is growing! In addition to the two-screw clip original CPM-440V Millie and the ATS-55 Civvie, I have just received what I believe to be my oldest Spydie to date, a Tufram, G-2 Stainless Snap-It! From before bi-directional texturing. Also have an AUS-8 Endura on the way... crazy how ALL of my "classic" 90s era Spydies are serrated! Not one plainedge old-school, yet, until I make a move this week on something special.

Biggest hole on a Spyderco yet, bigger than the PM2 or Yojumbo. Thinking of using this, as it's value is lower than the others and it just seems nice. It's quite sharp, anyone use G-2 before?

It is my impression that G-2 knives are older than Gin-1 because Spyderco was not able to put the "Gin-1" steel designation on knives cause of a deal the company had with another knife manufacturer, so Sal made up the G-2 designation, "Good S--t Too", and eventually Spyderco pulled more sway and was able to list Gin-1.

These Spydies are steadily taking over my case, they displaced all my Ontario and most of the Cold Steel! There are like 12 knives you cannot see in bags behind the case! I need a second case!
My case on Feb. 10 vs now, I need another case for not only all the knives that used to be in this case, but for the currently 10 Spydies not lucky enough to be in the case! Spyderco is one of the most addictive things out there, I swear.

Yes, the G-2 marking was used from about 1991 through 1993, with GIN-1 starting around 1994. It was less a case of Spyderco pulling more sway than the Gerber Silver Knight contract running out. Once that prior commitment was fulfilled, the maker was free to use the mark on Spyderco knives.

Some of the kids...

Oh, I see, I was wondering who the other company was, too! Good to know.

Been looking (off and on) for years to add the Spyderco Blackhawk to my collection and just found these 2 Spyderco Blackhawks -- a PE & SE -- on The Bay in just 2 weeks. :)

Despite this success, I'm still kinda annoyed because a PS version was actually being offered for sale at auction the same time. I completely missed the listing and it went unchallenged for the minimum bid. If I had seen it, I could have gotten all 3 variations at the same time!

Now, I may have to wait years again to find a PS varation. Oh well . . . 🤷‍♂️

I guess that's why they call it "collecting" and not just "buying." LOL! ;)

The Blackhawks join the complete set of Spyderco Renegades (the "big brothers" to the Blackhawks) already in my collection.
