Beautiful work Goose. I was just thinking about doing a drop through for the pipe hawk, love yours, nice and chunky and solid looking.

Best regards

Yeah that one was quite the project. Hardest part was getting the hammer pole area right.

Hawk and sheath made by RMJ forge...I was told Ryans father made the baldric but haven't contact Ryan to see if this is the case.

Really awesome hawks and sheaths and such in this thread! If you guys are tired of looking at great craftsmanship, here's a janky sheath I put together for my Fort Turner out of some blue leather scraps. Ugly, but works. Note the duct taped magnet on the inside of the cover. :)

:D

If it works USE IT! :D

Though this thread has given me pipe hawk envy...chances of finding a traditional RMJ pipe hawk that I can afford now are slim to none lol, might order one of those cold steel hawks and strip/mod it.

My first leather work... I think I spent more time making the deer sinew thread than on the sheaths themselves. The leather is bison. The arrow heads are flint. The snake skin is water moccasin.

Wow, real sinue, I'm impressed. I do real sinue for the purist reenactors but not too often.

Best regards

Robin

here is the sinew operation. the two rocks are what I use to pound, and the beeswax is for the final touch.
