Post your Tomahawk sheaths

A welt is a third layer of leather between the front and back layers to stop the edge from cutting the thread. It your hawks are sharp it will cut the thread without a welt.

oh... ok. yes. it is a strip about 1/4 inch wide. I thought that one out before I even started! :)
I think you can see it in this pic from my very first leather project!

Thats good, otherwise all your hard work on the sinue and sheaths would go down the drain. Sorry, I was in mid post when you answered.

that looks great. maybe one day I can get my sheaths to look less like a 5th grader's work and look more like that.
