I'm not sure how in your world the flipper gets in the way of cutting task...the flipper, as a guard, sits right where my index finger is when deployed...so your telling me that quarter inch of flipper that's against my finger is somehow messing up cutting chores....hmmm cool story bro. Again, Nice attempt at trolling.

Last attempt at a sensible answer for you. Pinch grip on a cutting board. If that is beyond your knowledge and experience then, ok.

You're reaching, your criticism is weak. I guess no blade with a guard makes it to your collection.

You should stick to Chef Knives, chief.

Can't discuss but just like to argue, eh? Have a nice day.

I like flippers, just haven't found a knife I like that happens to be a flipper. Some have come close, but I do agree that it is one of the best sort of knife next to a fixed blade for people who use gloves on the regular, as I do.

You are kinda trolling people yourself. No one is really trying to get on your case, more like they are trying to help you out. You are displaying a somewhat negative attitude towards responses you don't like, and have received warnings from mods. Everyone gets flippant or sarcasric at times. The difference on here is that you have a chance to sit back and think about your reply first. If you enjoy this forum, please be more courteous. Please do not take this as patronizing, but as an attempt to help you mesh better.

Help me out with what???

With the attitude necessary to keep you from getting banned. I have no problem with ya, I'm just saying what is perceived as a confrontational attitude will prob end with a ban. That's why all the attitude gets funneled into W&C.

Look how it all went down. I started a thread praising the Inventors of the FLIPPER, Kit Carson, and all knife companies offering them, then peeps come in call me a troll then post some bogus anti-flipper stuff.

If I get banned for anything already in this thread, then there is definitely a bias and double standard...things a good MOD does not possess.

The only thing I'm "guilty" of is being the new kid with knowledge and truth.

Gotta take differing opinions with a grain of salt, and instead of calling them a troll, maybe respond with positive comments about flippers?

Knock it off. Stay on topic or don't post. There will be no more warnings and I have little patience for playground BS.

Sure. :D

Thanks though, I needed a laugh.

Flippers are okay I guess, if you're into that sort of thing.
Not a huge thing though. just another tweak on knife design.

Flippers are ok, but I prefer a deep finger choil and thumb disk.
Also, I would bet that for speed and efficiency of mechanical opening, you can't beat the blade catch, which also doubles as a wave opener.

Plus, it'll open your beer!
Flippers don't open your beer. ;)

THE most important part of any knife.
Just ask 555.

As to flippers? I guess they're ok. I don't own a knife with one but I'm not against them.

But Flipper can float alongside my boat!

I don't need flippers to open my knives fast. Haste makes waste. If I need to suppress an assailant, I hit'em with my cane.

But I like flippers. Fun. Which is most of what I carry knives for. Got a black Shallot in my pocket right now. Only way to open it is with the flipper, no wave, no disc, no stud. Purity of arms ...
