My wife's aunt (mine by marriage) had a stroke today and is in a coma. She was out ridding her bike for exercise. She is being transferred to another hospital where a neurosurgeon is. They can not seem to stop the bleeding around her brain. The prognosis does not look good. She has been an elementary school teacher for many years. I teach at the same school as her husband (my wife's uncle). She has three grown up boys. A super neat and close family.

I left work today during second period to get home and help out. Since our little ones are so young I will be keeping the fort at home while my wife joins the family at her hospital. Her church has been notified as well. That's all I know right now.

So I am just going to be here at home to keep the wheels turning for the kids.

I never post personal stuff like this on the internet but I have developed friendships here, even with some I have yet to meet, thus I am comfortable doing this.

Feel free to make a prayer, send up some smoke, a thought of good will, swing some INFI, or whatever you do in these kinds of situations. Her name is Maria. :)

Thanks gang.

Hey man, prayers sent.

Hoping for improvement in her condition as well as a good recovery.

You've got it, brother.

Prayers and smoke coming up from Virginia!

Hang in there...

Of all the options, I will pray! Where two or more are gathered in his name, he will be in their midst! May God be with you and yours during this time of need! Scott

Prayers sent.

My father had a stroke in '79... It was pretty bad but he made about an 80% recovery through prayer and a LOT of hard work on his part. He was even able to return to golf, the game he loved.... He was taken from us 4 years ago but those years were good ones, so keep the faith, brother.

Thanks guys.

Update: They (Kaiser) had problems getting her an ambulance to transport. So meanwhile her brain continues to bleed out. Then they give us the wrong address for the hospital. Wrong hospital and wrong address. I know that the medical profession is tense but at least give out the correct address where loved ones are being rushed to for a life or death procedure. No word if she is there yet. Jeeeeze!
