Prayers needed for the Collucci family.

That's good news considering, Ken.

Hoping your dad recovers fast. Glad to hear he is fully mobile.

Prayer is sent for your father and family, KV.

I'm glad he's still with you.

]He can move his limbs, talk, and still break my chops (a good sign). The lawyers have been put on alert and despite this tragedy we will have a great Christmas because he is still with us. My dad is an ex-cop, a tough as nails SOB, and a stubborn Italian. With a combo like that I'm pretty sure he's gonna' pull through. He will turn 67 on Christmas Eve.

Ken,

Sounds like with the exception of the punctured lung and the vertebrae, your dad is still able to kick a** and take names!!!! Any chance he'll be home for Christmas Day? Or will you just move your festivities to the hospital?

Sending good thoughts and well wishes from me, and puppy kisses from the little munchkins.

TJ

Damn. :( Sorry to hear...

Prayers & positive wishes heading towards you & your whole family, Ken.

I am glad to hear that he will be OK. OUCHY!! Poor guy! I pray for a speedy recovery.

Ken, I am happy it sounds like he's going to pull through fine. That's all that is important.

Hope you have him back home soon.

Prayers sent to him and the whole family.

I gave my daughter Ken's update yesterday, and true to our family tradition, here's her response:

That's good news. Please tell Ken I wish his family the best and a full recovery for his Dad. Oh, and GET THAT IDIOT who caused the accident!!

Dad is looking better today though he is still in a lot of pain. Some new concerns popped up today after the MRI that I insisted on. His kidney is bruised and his back is killing him. This may be the result of the broken ribs and concaved chest. I was not happy with the doctors diagnosis on his neck. The MRI results will be read tomorrow and hopefully the doc will tell me what I want to hear......no broken neck. But I can say without hesitation that he is getting the best care possible. His doctor is a childhood friend of mine and is going above and beyond what is normally done in these situations (mainly because I half-jokingly threatend to kick his ass like if he didn't order the MRI).

My dad told me today that despite his injuries he expects the family to celebrate the holidays as we normally do. We plan to do just that. He needs to rest. He has not slept soundly in 3 days and want us to take care of mom and brighten her spirits during this trying time. It has been very tough on her knowing that she almost lost her husband.

One thing I do need to mention is how proud I am of my brother Vito. He is my half-brother but I have never thought of him as that. To me he is my just my older brother. He has been my rock during all of this. I don't think I would have been able to deal with this as well as I have if I didn't have him there with me. Him and I have been the family liasons. My family members have strict order not to contact my mom regarding my dad. They are to go through us two. I have never felt closer to him than I do right now.

I want to thank you all for your concerns and prayers for my family. It just strengthens my faith in the human spirit.

Again, thank you all.

Hey Ken, good to hear your dad's doing better.

If he's as stubborn as you are I'm sure he'll pull through fine.;)

You know my number if you want to give me a call. Take it easy.

KV, your dad's getting through this ordeal with his life spared is the best Christmas gift you could have ever been given by anyone. It sounds like the guy is tough as nails....kinda like his son.

Man, what a bugged up year. First your brother, then your dad, and at Christmas time, to boot. Well, you guys hang in there, and next Christmas, you'll all have the chance to make up for lost time.

Prayers for all you guys, especially your dad, from Concord.

thx - cpr

Praying for you and your family Ken. May angels watch over you during this trying time.
