Prefered fixed blade length

Many people use/carry knives longer than 8"
and
most of neck knives are shorter than 3"
even Delica is 2.5" !

I generally EDC blades that run from 4 to 5.5 inches.

Ince you get to an 8" blade: I think the term "hauling" is more accurate.

Some knives with 8" blades are quite easy to belt carry. This one I hardly feel at all. I wear it in the back to clear leg movement but it's actually light (400 gr / 14 oz, leather sheath included).
Not an EDC, of course. But a good versatile wood bumming tool.

I'm having deja vu.
3-4 inches for me, daily carry or in the woods.
Big enough to be practical, small enough to keep old ladies from having heart attacks.

My EDC fixed blades are all 3 to 4". I tend to prefer those near to 3" because they are easier in the pocket.

Although I did just order a 4" fixed blade...

Oh what did you get!? I just picked up a Reiff 6 inch.
