Hello Folks. Recently finished my best and technically most difficult piece. A long full integral sword in damacus steel with double edge blade and handle in presentation mammoth ivory. This piece is especially difficult for some points. This is a fairly large piece that requires a big amount of work (The total length is just over 30 inches). A double-edged blade makes it difficult to adjust the symmetry. An integral piece is also always more complicated to build. And perhaps the most difficult point is the absence of any right angle. When we have a design right angles I can use it as reference to build the whole symmetry of the piece. Since this is all curved sword completion of symmetry is more difficult. The guard and the ball are carved by hand file worked. The mammoth ivory scales were fixed with 12 pins embedded. For me it was a big challenge but I was totally satisfied with the outcome. I want called this sword Rose of Sarom.
I am very grateful that you see and would be honored if you post your impressions.
Thank you,
Eduardo Berardo

It looks GREAT Eduardo! As I looked at the progression of the pictures, the first few didn't look very impressive....but after the filework and etching....WOW!

Thanks for posting it,
Peter

Amazing piece of work, love the hidden pin handle. As a personal taste I would have loved to see a guard, because that would have given it more of a sword appearance to me. But hey that is just personal taste. All in all a great piece of work.:cool:

That is asbolutely beautiful Eduardo. Gorgeous damascus and a stunning piece of ivory. I like the use of the escutcheon for your mark.

Are you coming to Blade this year? I'd really love to see your work in person.

My sentiments exactly

As difficult as it is beautiful. That long, perfect symmetry just calls out to me. I'd like it as a carbon blade, but of course the damascus and the super ivory add even more.

Hope you come to Blade.

John

Thanks, guys. Mr Roger this year I'm not going to Bladeshow. My work in the headquarter do not allow it. But in 2011 I will. Probably you will see this piece in bladeshow. It belongs to a collector friend and Jon Klein.
Dear John White I hope one day meet you in person. I think its amazing knives and Ricardo Vilar told me that you is a great person.

Sorry you you won't be there this year, but I will look forward to meeting you in 2011. And if Jon brings this big beauty with him, I'll welcome the chance to get my mits on it.

Keep up the great work Eduardo!

Roger

I am really looking forward to having this beauty in my possession. Roger, for sure I will have it a Blade. It will go to Coop first but I will have it in time.

Eduardo thank you, Jon
