Pretend you're a billionaire. Which folder do you buy for actual use?

Let's say money is no object at all. You can buy an insane-looking diamond-encrusted Liberace knife if you wanted one. But you're also a knife aficionado like most of you gents on this forum (thus unlikely to get a Liberace knife). Which folding knife would you finally decide to get for carrying with you at all times?

Maybe a Hinderer? or a sleek/thin/light knife, a Sebenza? maybe force Pete Atwood to craft me a one-and-only? I'm thinking even if I were Bill Gates, I'd still carry a Spyderco Paramilitary, maybe the DigiCamo Black-blade version. What would you choose?

Definitely a Cucchiara in one pocket and an xm-18 in the other. And I would use the hell out of them.

I'd see if Gayle Bradley would find some time to cook me up a doozy.
The Spyderco GB just won my fancy, and that's a production blade.
His one of a kinds must be something to talk about.

If I were ludicrously wealthy I'd get a one-of-a-kind folder custom made out of materials with some manner of story behind them.

Ex: Titanium handles made from the guts of an SR-71 with wood inlays made from fragments of the True Cross and a damascus blade forged from the barrel of one of Horatio Nelson's own pistols...

KIDDING. I'd weep to see so much history melted down or destroyed to be turned into a friggin' pocket knife.

On second thought, I'd probably just go with a Sebenza. :p

i'm a billionaire and i have one different custom knife to carry for every day of the year. and yes i do have a special one i carry every feb 29

Off the top of my head?

Probably pay companies to design me knives or to make a custom model for me. As in, I would have spyderco make me a paramilitary 2 in H1 steel with yellow g-10 and all Ti hardwear. That and buy a unissued 1952 kalashnikov, you know those ones in that are still in the crate with the cyrlic all over it. I'd also buy a Titanium membership to bladeforums for life. And I'd probably get a busse too.

Honestly I doubt I'd do anything much different than I already do. I pretty much buy what I want now.

I like the "same ones I'm carryig now" reply. Clever and probably accurate if we all stayed honest without ourselves. One good reason for that notion is that most of us have had thousands of dollars worth of knives, either in our lifetime or in the last month. Doesn't matter, right?

So I suggest that I'm not sure I know what I'd do if I could buy any knife I wanted and still be happy with just that knife. Maybe I already "can have any knife I want" anyway. With unlimited funds, which is the case with a Knifenut Billionaire and their knives, I'm not sure I'd even be satisfied with one "most expensive" so called "best knife in the world (what is that anyway?) I already know that I'm a knife *h*ore and that really means, and rightly so IMHO, that a really good production knife is not to be ignored even if a custom from a world class maker isn't a Holy Grail. It is of course.

In a nutshell, I suggest that one or two knives ain't gonna cut it . . . regardless if they cost $100 or $1000 . . .

I'd hire a female butler or two that carry a small part of my knife collection for me, have them cut stuff while I enjoy looking at it. The kind of knives? uhmmm, sorry, got caught up in my previous thought ;)

my grandad got along just fine with his opinel, stockman, or Buck 110 and im thinking i can to. it won't matter how many pieces of paper you got in your wallet. It's the skill of your hands and the sharpness of the blade that count's.

I would carry this..

Wait I am already carrying it! ;)

I would rotate it between these on different SPECIAL occasions :D

The CGG comes out only on special occasions, Ie Xmas, Turkey Day etc.

If I didn't have to worry about money I would have a much bigger collection of knives..but these kept me happy to be honest.

No matter what custom I'd buy I wouldn't mind beating on it....beacuse heck im a billionaire so I'd have TRIPLES of every custom knife I buy to beat on ;]
