Pretend you're a billionaire. Which folder do you buy for actual use?

Next to a custom from the young and talented Emmanuel Esposito, probably something from Rockstead. I fondled them at shows, was impressed with the manical attention to detail, but could not justify such a premium for myself.

Even so, my Victorinox Soldier and Spyderco Stretch would still see a lot of pocket time !

I'd order a Lochsa and pay Scott Cook a premium if he put a flat ground blade on it.

I'd have to get something custom made to my own specs.

Come to think of it though, if I were that wealthy I could afford all the equipment, materials, training, and time it would take for me to design and make my own knives!

I have my own design with my own materials in mind, so it would be nice to finally have the money to find someone like STR, Warren Thomas or perhaps a Scott Cook to make a whole bunch of em for me, or I would simply buy all the equipment I need, materials and hire knife maker and engineer help me to make my own.

I'm not sure whether function completely loses it's appeal ,when you get filthy rich! It probably wouldn't for me. So I'd most likely stay with what I have already, a Sebenza. Right now,I can not and more importantly, will not spend any more than that on a knife. But even if there were no financial considerations, I'd still go for a Sebbie ,it's got everything I need in a folder!
Now if you're talking traditional folders (slipjoints) ,that's another matter. Some of the custom knives they show in the traditional forum....? Wow ,I'd love to have enough cash to buy them. But that's always been me, torn between the love of traditional slipjoints and the handy one-handed folder :D!

I would contract Ed Schempp to make me set of Persians with: 88, 75 and 62 mm blade length.
I will give you details after I discuss them with Mr. Schempp.

I'd get a Galyean Pro Series Junkyard Dawg to use and a custom Snody with titanium liners, paper micarta handle slabs made out of $100 bills and an Axis lock just for showing off. :D

Something from BudK. I don't want people hitting me up for $.

Honestly, a custom Yuna.

I see myself watching the sun go down on a brazilian beach and cutting my mango with walker zipper blade folder.

Great thread!

I've always admired Tom Mayo's work so I think I would pick a 4 inch Dr Death with a Stellite 6K blade for weekdays.

For weekends I'm thinking a Bagwell Frontier bowie with staghorn and Satan's Lace damascus throughout.

For the kitchen I would like a matching set of Large and Small Trace Rinaldi TKK's in carbon fiber and CPM-D2.

Yeah I know the latter two arent folders but its my dream darn it! :D
