Pretty slim pickins in the movie theaters this summer

Rotten Tomatoes is a good place to find out about movies of all kinds. Be warned, the boards are filled with pretentious film snobs, so be prepared for them not to like anything.

There was a trailer for it before House of Wax, which I saw Friday night. Looks good.

I miss MST3000.

Wanna see something weird? Rend a movie called Mr. Vampire (1985)

Worth watching for anyone. Anyone. It's unlike any movie I've ever seen.

That guy playing the priest has made a career out of playing the same character. I think if there's a film to be shot about vampires he's the first guy they call. Sad he's dead now though.

Personaly I cant wait to see DOOM. I hope it will at least be ok. I liked the games a lot.

It looks entertaining, but don't expect thespian quality from it. I don't like the camera shots I've seen, looks too much like a first person shooter. Gonna go see Serenity tomorrow, maybe A History of Violence tomorrow night with an old flame from my former job.

I just got back from seeing Serenity. It was incredibly good. Great action and space battles, great writing. lots of humor in the dialog.

Incredible story that picks up where the short lived tv series left off while still filling in new viewers on the backstory.

Without spoiling it there is also a bit of heartbreak experienced during the movie but overall a 9.5/10

Now if only they would bring back the show.

Doesn't Jessica Alba...
I mean, Into The Blue open tonight?

.
As far as I can tell, there's only two reasons to see this movie, and both appear to be covered by a bikini the whole time.

That's the point of the movie. It's that way because the game was one of the first really good ones from the first-person shooter perspective. That's the gimmic of the move. I'll probably see it just to experience something new.

Hmm, if it's like that the whole movie I dont think I will like it. It will be like watching someone else play the game. Where's the fun in that? Although it could go the other way for me and be just plain awesome. :D

It was awesome but it was a trip. Like Labyrinth on acid. If there are any Sandman fans out there I highly recommend it.

The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is out on the 14th!!!

I can't wait!!!

Took the boys to see it this afternoon. It wasn't quite as funny as i'd hoped, slightly funnier than Chicken Run but not as funny as the W&G shorts.

The film, cartoon and legend references abound, including American Werewolf in London; Dr. Jeckyl & Mr. Hyde; King Kong; Batman; The Hunchback of Notre Dame; any Tim Burton film; Dick Dastardly & Muttley from Whacky Races; Snoopy vs. the Red Baron; Thunderbirds; Carry On Screaming; The Lost World; Jurassic Park: The Lost World; and of course the W&G shorts.

Wallace's van is an Austin A35 but every single other motor vehicle in the film, as far as I could see, is a Ford 100e. Whether there is some joke in this, other than a reference to Ford Prefect(HHGTTG), or simply a way of economising on models, I don't know.

Well worth seeing, anyway.

Andy.

It opened here on 7 October. I'll likely wait a couple more weeks to see it until the theater is less crowded.

I imagine that it's harder to come up with a clever, funny theme and carry it all the way through a full-length film than to do so for a 20- or 30-minute short. The short films were great. When someone at work comes up with a really bad idea, I think to myself "Techno-trousers...this will be a valuable addition to our modern lifestyle".

:D

Saw W & G with my 7 year old son last night. We both loved it (and we're talking about how good cheese is all the way home! :D

There's a bunch of sight gags in there; pay close attention to the backgrounds... We stayed for the closing credits, and beside the dancing bunnies, there's only one minor joke at the end. I'll post what it is if people want, but don't want to spoil it for everyone.
