Preventing Rust on Carbon Backsprings: Recommendations?

Buy a Winchester cleaning cloth, and wipe down your knife every other day when used under normal day to day circumstances. The Winchester cloth contains mineral oil and can be found at most gun stores and even Walmart.

No problem Andrew!
There´s just one thing to add; you should try not to let it contact with any brass. It´s used as weapon oil. In a fired weapon there are rests of brass and other materials from the shell, maybe. This could damage your brassliners on the traditionals. But for using it on the blade or as an oil for the scales it would be great, for sure. So that´s the mysterium ;)

I used Ballistol already for the whole knife (Case Stockman) and nothing happened. The oil didn´t the brass or whatever. So Ballistol is the #1 for me for knives and for every other thing. You can use it for the blades, also when the knives are used for food prep.

My wife works in a butchery. The butchery machines to cut their meat and stuff for, are oiled with Ballistol. So there´s no problem about using it for everything.

Kind regards
Andi
