Primble & Friends March Madness Knife GAW - Winners Announced !!!

2d2d8ib.jpg

Pardon the interruption Mr. Primble, but I have a request. Could you please take a picture of my new TC with a Michigan State background? :grumpy: That Blue does not look very good with the nice wood handles of my new TC. :barf::barf::eek: Thank you for your cooperation in this matter! :D

I found an interesting mystery package in my mail today, thanks to Brad (coolio).:confused::confused::o

I knew him to be a Badger fan and I figured he had mailed me a Badger shirt. :o:foot::barf::barf::D

As I opened the box, I noticed the packing was strategically placed and a knife tube was wrapped with the "Kentucky stays perfect - BARELY", picture and caption !:rolleyes:

It is amazing how fans and newspaper editors have different perspectives on their wins and competitive wins.:eek::rolleyes::rolleyes::D:D:D

or was it meant for Paul and mistakenly mailed to Primble !??:confused::confused::D:D

This was my girl friend's reaction to the news articles:

But inside all of that "rubbish" newspaper was a Tidioute 73 tube, containing a very nice Wisconsin red lock-back. The one cent piece is symbolic - the worth of those news articles ! ;):D:D

Brad also enclosed a nice picture of his family and some kind words, which included his wish for me to pass the knife on in my next GAW or to keep, if I like. ;)

I suppose I will wait to see what the fate of the rather beautiful knife is, after the Badgers and Wildcats square off this Saturday evening. ;);)

If my Cats give them Badgers a good whippin', I will keep it for a long long time, to remind me that Brad not only had the misfortune and heart break of seeing his Badgers fall to the mighty Wildcats, he lost a good knife in the Badgering process. ;);):D:D

On the other hand, if that knife turns the table on me and my cats lose, it will be A GAW knife in a whip stitch !:eek::D

I think I will hide it in my red car during the game, just to be sure it ain't a jinx knife. It might get confused as to it's intended purpose and think it was just a knife to match my car.

Thanks for more fun Brad !!!:thumbup::D

Nice photos Primble! Careful you don't nick yourself with that big #73, I hear even your "blue" blood turns red when exposed to air.:D I also note that your girlfriend's lipstick shade matches the tractor red Tidioute, which means she's secretly a Badger fan (smart girl:D)

Dang Primble.....The Schatt & Morgan already got here! Thanks for a fun give away and a great knife!!!!
I'll post pics with it hanging with it's siblings later.

whew!!.....Its been a very very busy time - and I missed getting into the enjoyment of this Thread - although I have NO idea of who the teams are that you guys are talking about, apart from what Meako has all very kindly stated about the Aussie Cricketers thrashing the Kiwis in the world final - groan..and thrash us they did!!! Although I must say a couple of the Aussies did make their team look like dheads a wee bit there at one stage.
But another awesome give-away from our friend Primble - always a great effort put in by Rob - and always a pleasure to read the threads through - I was just so busy I missed it all.
Congrats to the winners- some very very nice knives being given out - and to Primble and the generous donors who gifted some amazing knives-a MASSIVE thank you for being a strong vein in our Traditional Family - just great.

Meako my friend, your knife will be sent away this weekend, I really hope you enjoy that Erics Jack - theres something really special about those knives, and I hope you experience that.
Have a great Easter everyone.

Ron - you're very welcome! I'm happy that the knife made it to you in time for the weekend and even more so that you seem to like it. I hope that you're able to use it in good health and good fortune for many years.

I feel fortunate to have stumbled upon this sub-forum and to have been taken in. I've met some of the finest folks I've ever run across here, and feel humbled to be able to consider so many friends.

I remember that I hadn't been a member here for very long when I won a Madison Barlow in a GAW being hosted by Kirby (9blades). His generosity made a huge impression on me then (thanks again Kirby!) and I continue to be amazed almost daily by the kindness and good will so frequently displayed here.

So again, you're more than welcome. Thanks for your contributions, and thanks to you and everyone else for allowing me to hang out with you here on the porch. :)

Thank you Ron for the kind words. That knife from Stephen is a great looking knife and I hope you find it pleasing.

I heard a story on our local news TV tonight and I want to pass it along. The life saved in a resident of my home county. :

Bone marrow from Wisconsin student saves Big Blue fan

INDIANAPOLIS (WKYT) - On Saturday, two passionate fan bases will go head to head in the stands. It's the Big Blue Nation and the Badgers of Wisconsin. For the second straight year, a trip to the National Championship game is on the line. Two of those fans, a 20-year-old Wisconsin student and a Big Blue Fan share a unique bond.

Scott and Angela Logdon, of Mercer County, know about winning when the odds are down.

"September 17 is actually when I went to the doctor, that was a Monday. Two days before , I was really sick couldn't get out of bed," said Logdon.

At age 42, Logdon thought he had strep throat.

"They came back in and said we are still running more tests, but we think you have leukemia." said Logdon.

He was rushed to the UK Markey Cancer Center. His situation was dire.

"The scary part was when the doctor came in for me to sign off on paperwork for the chemo. They said the type of cancer you have is treatable, but if left untreated, you will be dead in a matter of weeks," said Logdon.

Hundreds of miles away at the University of Wisconsin, then freshman Chris Wirz signed up for a bone marrow registry.

"I'm like sure, chance to save a life yeah why not," said Wirz

Wirz ended up being a match for Logdon.

"We pretty much fell to our knees, cried, screamed and praised God," said Logdon.

In January 2013, Wirz donated bone marrow to Logdon. After a year, both sides were eager to meet. The first phone conversation took place right after 2014 Final Four game between UK and Wisconsin.

"You got a whole system of Badger blood, you are built off it now," Wirz said.

"I might have Badger blood in me, but I still bleed blue," said Logdon.

Wirz has now become part of the Logdon family. He came to visit last summer, taking in all things Kentucky.

"Its amazing how it all worked out and had the perfect match. Kentucky and Wisconsin, another year in the Final Four, it's a God thing," said Logdon.
