Primble & Friends March Madness Knife GAW - Winners Announced !!!

Very good GAW Mr Primble!:thumbup::cool:

Was all poised to enter, but....don't know anything about that game with a ball & hoops  and I already have that behemoth in my stable. Indeed, not for the faint of heart, could even double up as a cut-throat razor:D:D

Congratulations to the donor and the eventual winner.

Thanks, Will

Thanks for the chance - I´m in! But the rules are hard - at least for a bavarian original without any idea of basektball at all ;)

1. Post your favorite picture of any knife that you own or have owned.
That´s easy: GEC #66 Serpentine Jack ....

2. State what you like about the GAW knife or why you want it - do you collect S&M, collect sheep foot knives, etc.?
I like the GAW knife by its shape and how it looks - sheepfoot is one of my all-time-favorite bladeshapes. And I don´t own any Schatt & Morgan yet.

3. Tell me which team might trounce (and by how many points) my beloved "Kentucky Wildcats" basketball team in the upcoming NCAA March Madness event.
I can´t answer this question - don´t know the rules and just to be silent about the point system... ;)

4. Open to all members who post regularly in traditionals or can be a new member to Blade Forums Traditionals.
I think here I qualify...

5. I will pick a winner during the "Final Four". I might do a random, but, might/or most likely pick a winner from rule # 2 or # 3 or I might just like your favorite knife picture.

6. Last, but not least - you cannot be a Christian Laettner fan !!!!!!!!
I didn´t know this man. So I googled him and I actually think I don´t like him :p

Thanks for the chance in hosting this GAW!

Thanks for doing a gaw and being a very good contributor here Primble!
1. Favorite knife: got this from the man himself.

2. Edit: I really like the wormgroove! But the ebony is awesome too, and I have never owned an ebony knife!
3. My Wisconsin Badgers will avenge last year's loss to Kentucky, 74-73 (miss shot at the buzzer) Final Four battle. Frank "the tank" Kaminsky can't be stopped!

I have Deep feelings of dislike for Laettner (I remember that game well) and coach K(can't spell it or say it), please retire already. "Duke is Puke" it says on a bumper sticker in my fav tavern. Sorry Duke fans, I don't dislike you, just your winning winning winning, let the Badgers win one!

Thanks for the chance at such a great knife! Here's my most carried and used knife. I love it:)

I'd like this S&M because of it's sheepsfoot blade, and beautiful jigged bone handles. I've gotten into SF blades recently and finally see what all the fuss is about.

I wish I could complete #3, but I don't know a dang thing about sports lol:o sorry! I hope this dosent disqualify me.

Either way this is very generous of you primble!

God Bless,
Ryan

You do have the BEST GAW's Primble---the Kentucky Derby one will be talked about for a long time:thumbup:

Not an Entry but an appreciation post for all you do here:cool:

GO IRISH!!!

Well that was one of the most difficult pictures I've ever taken:o

That photo and caption is frightening and hilarious, Paul! :D:D:thumbup::thumbup:

This was my Christmas last year, plus a Blade mag sub.!
Big gifts to me, as we have 5 kids, I never have gotten 2 knives before
at once from my wife! Most of my knives were purchased when I
was a single man....
2. The first knife that got me back into knives was S&M premier scout, an sfo
for Clarence Risner, past NKCA president. As a youth, men at my church were
NKCA members, one gifted me my first Kershaw. So I was a member off and on
for many years. My current wife and I went to the knife show in June in Sevierville, TN
that year so I could fondle and pick one. We were dating at the time, 2007 I think...
So since we married in 2008, I only get a handful of knives at most each year.
I bought 2 S&M new from Clarence to carry at our wedding. A redbone scout, and
an english jack with spearpoint. The jack is put up on display, the scout was my edc
until lo and behold, I misplaced it. Gone for good. I have always wanted to get the
sheepfoot one to go with the spearpoint, and it would make a good
Sunday carry knife also.
3. Bama, by 12 points (if they even play in that division?) ROLL TIDE!
4. Thanks for the opportunity!
5. I may watch some at the end, I really only pull for college football..
6. Idk who that is, so not a fan.

1. This is a Northfield 85 Bullet End Jack EO on a rock with fossilized leafs. The rock was passed down to me from my grandfather and was found on his Montana ranch. It's hard to pick a favorite but this one is on the short list.

2. What I like most of all about the GAW knife is the nicely executed long pull sheepsfoot primary blade. I only have a couple of Schatt & Morgans in traditional collection which is mostly GEC & Case and have been impressed by the S&M's. There are a few models including the GAW knife that I would definitely like to try out.

3. I don't think anyone will trounce the Wildcats but you said "might" so I will say my beloved Texas Longhorns might pull off a 1 point upset win.

4. I think I meet this requirement.

5. Your GAW your rules.

6. Not a fan. A 20+ yr semi-sincere apology for stomping on that players chest prompted by recent media attention does not remove that guy from my you are dead to me list.

Paul - hilarious and great post !!! Outstanding Tat and looks like the weight loss plan is working.:eek::D:thumbup:

You might ought to change your post to an entry - you never know how this is going to end up or what might become at stake! ;)

All I need to up the ante is something outrageous posted by our friend Duncan - who probably knows NOTHING about round ball !! :grumpy:

For all of you non Basketball fans - the round ball knowledge is not required. Just state that you are not a fan in your post. :)

A lot of great posts so far and Marko you are disqualified due to an infraction of entering twice - just because you live in a state where the Spartans rule does not give you special privledges! :grumpy::D ( edit your double entry and I MIGHT let you back in )

Thank you all for your participation and for the positive comments ! :)

 Disqualified?!! It was not an intentional foul Roberto! :grumpy: I had internet connection issues!:barf::barf: Just send me the damn coins and my Linda Carter poster and we'll call it good. :D:D:D

OK Marko - I later saw that you had already fixed your cheat entry (you probably became scared of the wrath) and you are now re-entered. I do have to enforce an infraction on you for asking for items not included in THIS GAW, so you better behave yourself from here on !! :grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

:D

Cool giveaway, superb looking knife.

This is not an attempt at entry, good luck to everyone!

My FAVORITE KNIFE.

k6in.jpg

I really like the GAW knife due to blade selection, size, great riding in backpocket along side wallet. And I JUST started enjoying Queen/Schatt Morgan knives...why I waited this long is a mystery?

Trounce your Wildcats? Not sure that can happen as they are a machine...BUT maybe a wee bit or a massive amount of "the luck o the Irish" may do the trick:o Score, Irish 82-Wildcats 76.

Just watched "Why I hate Christian Lattner on ESPN's 30 for 30 episode. I don't "hate" him per se but really really don't like him. He was a bully on the court and in practice even to his fellow team mates. I cant argue that he was a very talented ball player though.

Thank you Primble for the nudge to enter and the weight loss compliment. Stuck at seventeen lbs but keep pluckin away at it;)

Post your favorite picture of any knife that you own or have owned.

At first I thought you said 'favorite knife' which would've been akin to asking me to name my favorite child. But favorite photo, well that's a bit easier.

And yes, I am sucking up to the judges. ;)

State what you like about the GAW knife or why you want it - do you collect S&M, collect sheep foot knives, etc.?

I don't know why, I just know...

Tell me which team might trounce (and by how many points) my beloved "Kentucky Wildcats" basketball team in the upcoming NCAA March Madness event.

Is this a riddle? You might as well ask me why irons have a setting for permanent press. Or, why they put braille on drive-up ATM machines.

Seriously though, did the Washington Generals make the tournament? If so, I'm going with them... seems to me they're due for a big upset win.

Last, but not least - you cannot be a Christian Laettner fan !!!!!!!!

No worries on this one, I hate that dude's movies!

I've already been on the business end of a Primble GAW. Best of luck to all entrants and kudos to the man himself for this generous gesture.

Sweet English Jack!!!!

I have eyeballed these many times for purchase.

My favorite knife I own is a J. Oeser large gunstock. (A knife I might add, I think is worthy of winning a knife design contest!)

For me the draw of these large English jacks by S&M is many fold. The great bone color and polish. The pinched, lined/rat tail bolsters look great. The worm groove bone is lovely. The large sheepsfoot with a long pull and swedge is what tops off the cake for me!

3. No team can trounce your Wild Cats! (I honestly have no idea who they will play, and who is going to win, and I am not about to look up the bracket to make up my answer..... Because they are your team, and you are giving away a sweet English Barlow, so by default, they deserve to win the national championship......that is basic Karma rules!)

I honestly can't tell you who Christian Laettner is. I looked him up because of this contest, but even after seeing who he is I still have no idea! But I can say, I am no fan, and his picture looked pretty lame. I instantly did not like his smug face! (or maybe it was the fact that a distinguished gentleman with as refined an eye as you have for fine knives does not like him.......)

Anyway, thanks for a fantastic giveaway!
