I bought this knife a while ago, and it came with a sheath that didn't seem much good to me.
So I made one.
My skills are improving, but are still far short of what I've seen around here.
But I enjoy working with leather, so it's all good.

The belt loop was designed for cross draw or regular.

Really nice work on the sheath Lorien, and a terrific knife by Terry. What's the wood?

Roger

Thats a Terry Primos bowie? Thats a keeper, Rare nowadays. Nice work on the sheath, it goes very well with this knife.

You did a FINE job.....great looking sheath and looks hell-for-stout.....comfortable, too.

That came out great! Looks very functional and well put together. Bravo.

Very nice knife too.

Anyone hear from Terry lately? I haven't spoken to him since he stopped making knives a few years ago, wonder what he's up to...

Wow, nice work Lorien, that's easily the best I've seen from you to date. Great shape and stitching. Very nice work!

Great job, looks like you're about ready to start selling them! :D Is there a drain hole near the tip, where there's no stitching? I'd maybe bevel the edge of the flap that shows some wear from the guard<?> but that's just being nit picky.

hey, thanks a lot you guys, you just made my day:)

All I see when I look at the sheath are my mistakes. It's a burly sheath, but I think I need to step it up a notch in the f&f dept. Once I have a little more faith in my skill and knowledge, maybe I'll get some really nice leather.

This knife is fantastic. I got it for what seemed to me to be a really great deal, and it is just so light and so comfortable, and the fitment of all the parts is as good as I've seen. Plunges are symmetrical, and really everything about this knife is so great. I'm lucky to own it!

Thanks again!

ps. Jose, I just saw your post, and you're right it is a drain hole. Haven't tested it yet, but it should work ok. Not that I'm going to let this knife get exposed to much gnarl, after reading Bruce's post!

Roger, I'm not sure. I was guessing maple, but I really can't say for sure.

Lorien thats a very nice sheath, matter of fact its about perfect in my opinion. Ive seen that Primos around, real nice Bowie there!

Like I said when ya got the knife it is a real real good one

The sheath looks really good and I mean it

If you make the loop a little bigger the knife will still stay put but it will pivot and free float you can also tip or cant it to sit down or just ride at the angle you want it to.

Kevin and Matt, thank you! Those are heavy hittin words and they mean a lot to me.

Joe, a lot of the design planning here had a ton to do with the things you've said about carrying a bowie. I take it all to heart, but now that you mention the pivot, I realize I hadn't paid enough attention. You've spoken of that pivot previously, and I didn't address that well enough.
Won't make the mistake of paying no heed to the words of Joe Paranee!
This sheath is not the greatest for sitting down. The belt loop is too tight to allow the tip of the sheath to swing in being you when you go 90 degrees. It might loosen up a little over time, but still, next high ridin big sheath I make is gonna pivot, g'all dang it!

Lorien do not get me wrong I love the sheath and would be proud to put any of my blades or the one you got in it.

I have carried big knives for a long time and I have experimented alot

Great combo
