Private Transaction Integrity

Sending money and knife at the same time? I've become used to sending the money out first and then waiting for the guy to send me the knife. It's also how I do trades. So far everyone here at Bladeforums that I've dealt with were nice, honorable people and I haven't been ripped off, yet. Maybe it's bad to at least expect to be ripped off after a certain amount of trades or sales, but it would probably be one out of a thousand if it happens.

I expressed interest in four knives recently; total value about 2000$.

I agreed to the initially offered prices. The sellers all shipped same day even though I told them I'd take 5 days or so to get them the money. One seller actually said "Wait until you get the knife to make sure you are happy with it, then pay me."

I sent 6500$ worth of knives to one buyer to see which (if any) he wanted. He bought a few, mailed the others back with a personal check.

Nothing like trusted friends... that I have never, ever seen.

I am still relatively new here as well, but am gratified (amazed really) at the way people behave. I don't do that many trades/buying/selling, but have always had good experiences. In evry case that I recall, we did cross shipping. My statement to people was/is: "if either is not happy, we trade back". So far it has never happened.

The people here are incredible; I have always been used to $$ first, THEN merchandise. Trust seems to be the thing here. It seems that people here are willing to trust you until you prove you don't deserve it. I had someone offer to ship me the knife, and pay them if I liked it - that floored me. They didn't know me at all!!! It works to restore my faith in human kind.

So far so good;)
