Problem with high end production knife...

I just recently picked up a Reate K1 from KnifeCenter. I was completely unfamiliar with this company, as the only thing I knew what that they are made in China, but despite that, they had a good rap. A couple hours ago, I received the knife, only to find the tip slightly bent and white blemishes on the blade. Anyone have any ideas how to fix these issues?

I would rather take matters into my own hands as I want to avoid the shipping there and back. I want to hear if someone had encountered the same issue before and has fixed it.

No way. I understand the excitement of wanting to remedy it and have it now, but it’s not worth it. You botch it up, you own it. Not worth the chance. Contact knife center and return it. They should cover the shipping both ways for you since it’s something they could have prevented. Never hurts to ask.

Post some pictures. It may be as simple as rubbing the spots off with some metal polish or stropping compound and sharpening the tip straight.
You can't really tell that the tip is bent. You can only really feel it. The white blemishes however... let me see if my garbage camera can pick it up.

good points. i was thinking bent over tip and flawed steel, but could be super minor nit picking easy to diy. i wasnt thinking that way. goes to show......

Pictures will help . I have never bought a Reat but I have been around here for a while and I have never read or seen issues with their knives .

dont try to fix it yourself , simply exchange it .
if you cant wash it off, blade has to be refinished and you cant do it at home .

I am more curious of the bent blade.

As for the white stuff on the blade, it does not look like blemish IN steel to me. A drop of sharpening oil may wipe it off easily.
