I recently purchased a Gavko EDC2 from poboy26 from the following thread.

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1249702-Gavko-EDC-2-0-and-Sharknivco-Robusta

Seller wanted me to pay via gift but I opted to add 3% "when they asked" for a goods payment even though it wasn't originally stated in the thread. I received the knife and inspected it. I immediately found lock slip and lock failure. Illustrated in the following video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1UBmQSD_IU&feature=em-upload_owner

I contact
poboy26 - "EDITED REAL NAME I can provide it if that is ok with the rules" from girlsthatshoot under instagram.

and told him about the issue. I told him that I know Gav will take care of it for him and that I would like poboy26 to return the knife to Michal to get it fixed. I would send the knife back to poboy26 for a refund and he can take care of it as it wasn't a disclosed issue.

poboy26 offered me a refund at the end of the month. I told him that's not really how things are done. poboy26 told me I was being a jerk and said he would refuse the return delivery.

I have never had to fill a knife claim on paypal or start a negative thread here. I would like poboy26 to answer to this and just make this right in a timely fashion. I did start the paypal claim process and I know its now in his court to make it easy or hard.

I will let poboy26 know about this thread.

Note: this is not indicative of Gavko's work. I have owed a ton of his knives and love them. Gav has already stated that he will fix the issue. I just don't want Poboy26 to think he can sell a knife and have no responsibility after.

Thank you all for the time.

Greg - AKA Tomalock

Additional Info - Paypal already denied the claim stating "After careful consideration, we're unable to decide this claim in your favor at this time.

The item violates the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy. It's ineligible for PayPal Buyer Protection."

I sent him a message letting him know about the thread.

Did PayPal give you any other detail why the item violates their policy?

Hi Tomalock,

Sorry you got shafted like this. My first buy off of here was a similar situation. The only time I ever had a problem with in a knife deal. PayPal took care of it and awarded my money right away. They give you a claim number and you can call them to talk directly to a manager. Knives are eligible. Call them instead of the escalation online process.

To Poboy26, this is messed up. Refund tomalocks money asap. This is a small community and you don't get away with stuff like this.

I'm on hold with paypal (about 45 mins now). They are saying that since its a custom knife, its not covered. I gave them more information and they are going through it all with a supervisor. I'm slightly shocked that it was decided in 30 mins. Hopefully they will come back with some better news. Either way I know Mike will take care of this knife and its not going to be a loss. BUT the seller has totally stopped com with me since the decision from paypal came in that quick.

He basically said "your a jerk, screw you, it didn't leave my house like that, get it fixed yourself".

--- Wait, paypal just took me off hold and said that they are going to bring it back to a claim.

yeah bro, let them know you did not order a custom, you bought a custom knife. It was already made and described to you. It came not as described.

Good luck and keep us updated.

I thought he offered you a refund?are you demanding he send it back ti gavko?its definatly been over carbadized I have seen it b4.such a easy fix.was tge refund not the full amount?.he totally new about that lock what a douche poboy.get youre money back and be done with it.

Another example why sellers need to fully disclose all aspects of their knives in their sale listings and be thorough about their descriptions. "the knife is smooth as butter and perfect lockup" is not adequate. Descriptions like these should not be allowed in sales posts and in my opinion warrant infractions. Unless the seller in this particular case really had no idea what he was looking at - highly improbable considering the kind of knife being sold - this was a case of intentional neglect to describe the condition of the knife in the interest of profit.

Hey Greg,

Let us know how PP decides regards to this being a 'custom knife' not sure how that has any bearing on things, but they sometimes like to make things difficult.

Obviously the seller knew about the issue, not sure why he didn't just send it back to Gav before selling it?

Hopefully we can have him answer these few simple questions, and maybe explain his side of the story and 'alleged' disregard for making sure the buyer received what was advertised, and maybe explain the reason for his attitude as well.

Nothing I read here is going to help him with any future sales on BF.

Maybe this is the key? PP must have mis-understood the situation....

Also, make sure PP knows the seller is NOT the Maker!!

I had a similar problem several years ago with a "custom made" knife. When PP finally understood the seller did not make the knife that it was already made and delivered not as described they ruled in my favor.

This is crazy.. Wait until the end of the month ?? Is he out of his mind. That knife had to have come like that and for him to think that he can just brush you off . Typical poser crap. Check me out on Instagram ?? I have good feedback there ? Instagram has got to be the worst place to conduct any type of sales ( I know you bought it here ) or to use as a place for feedback. There is ZERO accountability on that place. On a forum you have to earn it. You cant come on hear and pull this crap.

Poorboy .. Pay the man.. If you don't have $600 bucks kicking around then you should not be dealing in high dollar custom knives. That is why you are a fraud and a poser.

Im sorry to hear about the problem Greg. You know you could have just send it to me and i would have taken care of it immediately. If you dont want it, send it to me and i'll refund you myself

It's not your fault Michal. Its more of the principle. The guy was a jerk about it from the start and acted like he didn't have any responsibility in it.

In the end I saw one of your knives that I was going after that day at makers price and jumped on it. I should know just to get them direct from you Gav

Just in. Paypal reversed the decision and refunded the money. I have the knife in hand though. REAL STRANGE. I have no email saying to send it back the money just showed up in my account. I can tell you the seller didn't refund it on his own. It was a reversal paypal confirmed that.

lol, how the tables have turned. I'm sure there is a big fat negative balance in his paypal and I also have the knife.

Hopefully he will be nicer about it all now. .... ok poboy26 come on by and get your knife.

add on- I bet PP takes the money out of my account at some point today or tomorrow though. That's a pretty big screw up on their part.

Haaa i bet he will speak up now.

Karma's a bitch isn't she ?

I agree that it was not your responsibility to send it back to the Maker... Of coarse he would take care of it. I could tell that the OP wants PoorBoy to be held accountable for sending off a knife in need of repair. I had a dealer pull that crap on me. So I know exactly where he is coming from .

Now he will go on Instagram and cry how he was scammed by you . Why don't you hang on to it until the end of the month. Then make sure he PayPal's you the money to ship it back with signature and insurance.

Gavko,

I think Tomalock posted this to help the community not get scammed. It is not a reflection on your knives.
You have a great reputation and your knives are high quality. I'm not big into some of te designs as I like Gucci style knives, lol. But after what you just posted I'll be buying one if I can just because of the respect I have for your customer service!
