Problem with Ragweed forge.

I waited a long time before posting this because Ragnar is a really nice guy and I am pretty sure the problem is related to his computer rather than negligence.
I ordered a Brusletto Nostalgi carbon steel blade (no handle) on Jan 17 and got a
confirmation. I waited quite a while (6 weeks) before email about not getting the blade because it says orders to canada take a log time. I had a hard time getting through when I did email as most of my emails were returned as spam.
Eventually I must have because I got an email on tthe 25 of Feb saying he had
not processed it even though I had an order number. He asked in that Email what name it was under. I have replied to that email and sent dozens of others tring to find out about my order and whether it has been sent but I have had no response.

What I would like to know is has anyone had these kinds of communication problems with Ragweed besides myself? Also what should I do now?

I am not sure if the credit card was charged as I don't have one and I paid a relative(thanks mom) upfront to use hers.
I feel bad doing this because Ragnar has always seemed like a great guy but I am out of ideas.
 
Mmm. i sent emails that never got replied. but thats about it lol, for that I couldn't put in an order and so they lost my patronage.

From what I know though, RWF got a good reputation =)
 
I think it says on his website that he is away for a while.

From the website: "The store will be closed for two weeks, from March 2nd to March 16th. I will be unable to process or confirm orders until the 18th. I expect it will take a week or so to catch up. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience."

I understand businesses get a lot of email and it can take a while to go through, especially after a couple of weeks away. Whatever held your order up, you won't be able to contact Ragnar until next week.
 
Speaking as a fellow canadian who has ordered from Ragnar twice, I found him to be cheerful and communicative. My orders both arrived promptly and in one case I received a 'free upgrade' because he was out of stock on the lower end option I had requested.

I can't speak for what troubles might ail him today, but I expect things will get cleared up sooner or later. If your emails are being bounced off as spam you should probably re-evaluate who you are using as your email provider.

Thanks guys, I know it has not been ganked by customs because Ragnar said he had not sent it. I really think this is a communication problem and so long as I get this sorted out I will order stuff from him again. I am happy to hear he is away as I thought he was just ignoring me and that seemed really out of character.

If he does not get my Emails after the 18th I will give a phone call. It would have been nice to have had this dealt with before he left though. I will let BF know how this turns out.

Dozens, eh?

Especially, especially when you get dozens from one person :D

I have dealt with Ragnar several times and have always had a good experience.

That being said, it doesn't help your situation. Here is an observation to consider;

You used your Relative's CC to charge your order, perhaps the Card was declined due to the Shipping address being different from the CC Holder address?

I would do the following;

- Contact your Relative, find out if the Card was charged.
- Insure that said Relative did not receive the package by mistake and Return it or keep it. ( a longshot I know)
- Wait until the 19th of March, call Ragnar (with all the necessary info like CC Holders Name & number, Order Date, Order number if any, Shipping address, etc)

I am SURE that you can get it worked out.
