Problems with Tensioning KMG Grinder

This statement summarizes my experiences with my KMG, as well. I've had to bust my ass to make it a real grinder. Works pretty well, now, but not without a LOT of fixing. Next machine will be a Wilmont or a Weurtz.

Have you checked out an Esteem? That is my new grinder and it's phenomenal man. It just want to get this kmg running without the wobble so I can have it for a different setup. Great work on your mods btw bro

...or maybe a Drew Riley grinder. :D

Now you're talking!

If I could ever get a shipment on my tool arm stock and work rest/flat platen pieces.... I'm probably a day's work from finishing the prototype, but I think I may be waiting forever on these parts.

Thanks, bud! Although some of my modifications were to add flexibility to the machine, many of them stemmed from having to rebuild it to get rid of the wobble and vibration you're faced with. Single best alteration was converting to direct drive.

There's a dearth of great machines out there, now. People that are in the market for one have lots of better options to choose from, that's for sure.

Drew, I've got time... Think I got my tool arm stock from Metals Depot. They shipped pretty fast, and were cheap, too. Nothing worse than waiting.
