Recently I listed a knife for sale at this post:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ilson-Combat-Eagle-(Les-George)-TRADE-PENDING

I was contacted by UrFrndlyNebrhoodS (AKA Ryan Posey) on these forums; we worked out a deal for his Spyderco Slysz Bowie and $107 for my Wilson Combat Eagle. I stated that once I received payment and a tracking number I would ship my knife out. He tried changing our deal multiple times but untimately re-agreed to the aforementioned terms. In the end I received $107 and an empty box. That's right...he sent me an empty box. I contacted him in an email, so in a reply today he told me:

"Hello,
Please don't be alarmed as the deal is still valid and the trade still honored. As soon as your package arrives, it will be inspected and then the Sylsz will be shipped promptly via Priority to ensure fast delivery.

Thanks,"

He knowingly sent me an empty box to get me to ship first, after he agreed to ship same time. Ridiculous behavior from a fellow forum member.

wow, that is out of bounds and should get him banned

This^^^

How much lower can you really go?!

It's just so far from what I think most of us could place in the realm of semi-acceptable behaviour in a mutually agreed upon transaction.

Seems overly Childish for a member with a good amount of feedback. Especially for a deal that already had agreed terms.

Just got this:
Wow, this is really disappointing you at least couldn't wait for my reply before publicly posting. I waited 2 days for a shipping notice on your part after I ship out and send the money and you couldn't wait a few hours for me to receive your message and offer a response?

Please remove your posting in the original sales thread and remove the new thread you started. We can work this out. The trade deal is still good to go and nothing as has changed. The knife was a gift to me from my grandparents and thus holds some sentimental value beyond the obvious monetary value. When we couldn't come to an agreement on price, honestly it had me worried. But I wanted to do the trade deal with you as everything was smooth up until that point. If you have any other questions please let me know.

Thanks for understanding,

P.s. I was late because he gave me the wrong ZIP Code.

If he didn't like the terms he should have just said "no thanks" and moved on. People get a bit too caught up in these trades; there will almost always be another opportunity.

He didn't have a problem when the deal was first ironed out; just after. I even gave him an opportunity to back out.

Btw, he still has the knife listed for sale in the production folder section.

I noticed that as well. If you've a trade pending you list it up as 'trade pending' This doesn't smell fishy to me as much as it is just disregard for the terms laid out by Bladeforums for a deal that has been agreed upon.

I also understand there are 2 sides to every story--
THEREFORE--UrFrndlyNebrhoodS needs to pipe in.

So, to sum this up;

You agree to a deal.

Instead of getting a knife, you get a box with a note saying you will get the knife that's still posted for sale on this forum.

Then you post this up, rightfully so, and you get the 'sentimental, my wife is sick, I had a sudden death in the family' thing.....

Lucky you.

I can't see him adding anymore then he did in his recent email to the OP on why he sent a note instead of a knife....

That's a tuff one to talk your way out of.

Ya, my ignore list is starting to look like my grocery list...

That is so very very tacky..
IF this is TRUE--a NOTE instead of a knife that was in the agreed trade??
THAT IS A NEW ONE..In 10 years here
I HAVE never seen that one......
This ""GUY NEEDS TOO HAVE STEPS taken against him so this never happens AGAIN""
If it is justified.

BUT yet again
""2 sides too every story--JUST cant fathom the process of this trade""??
I will amend this if needed after the OP pipes in to tells his side.
BUT FOR THE MOMENT
If it smells FISHY.....

To ship a piece of paper but NO KNIFE
Now that would simply upset me as well.
TRULY.....

What a untrusting clown.. Once you make a deal you have to honor it. That guy is way out of bounds. Guy is a control freak. And yea you should have posted this . You don't owe him anything. But he owes your knife. I have heard them all now. What a clown
