You should be able to contact carrier and return the shipment to origin.

I was contacted by UrFrndlyNebrhoodS (AKA Ryan Posey) on these forums; we worked out a deal for his Spyderco Slysz Bowie and $107 for my Wilson Combat Eagle. I stated that once I received payment and a tracking number I would ship my knife out. He tried changing our deal multiple times but untimately re-agreed to the aforementioned terms. In the end I received $107 and an empty box. That's right...he sent me an empty box. I contacted him in an email, so in a reply today he told me:

"Hello,
Please don't be alarmed as the deal is still valid and the trade still honored. As soon as your package arrives, it will be inspected and then the Sylsz will be shipped promptly via Priority to ensure fast delivery.

Thanks,"

He knowingly sent me an empty box to get me to ship first, after he agreed to ship same time. Ridiculous behavior from a fellow forum member.

WOW! That's so wrong in so many ways. If he didn't like the terms of the deal he should have moved on. This is the first time I've ever seen or heard of something like this ever happening. He should be banned.

I've sent him a PM. If people cannot agree on terms and try jumping canoes midstream then we are going to have problems. Better to be clear and up front from the start and avoid the drama. Everyone is tired of this kind of crap, and everyone deserves to have a simple, painless, and straightforward transaction process.

not sure who you mailed it through but the USPS does a parcel intercept service that I used successfully when a member lied to me about the condition of a knife. I traded with him and when his showed up first, I asked him to return mine and when he refused I found out it hadn't been delivered yet. Several phone calls to local Post Offices later and I was able to catch it literally right before it was delivered lol.......

best of luck with your situation. Let us know how it turns out. It's unfortunate that the user hasn't come here to post his side. It also seems that this user has pulled this type of stuff before under a different user name :(
 
Lets all band together and make this his one and only deal EVER on BFC.

Deception in a trade deal is very bad business, no it's criminal!!!

I will keep everyone updated; I have taken steps to try and get my knife back. As soon as I know anything I will relay it. I told him after the last email that all communication between us should be done here and have yet to hear back from him.
 
Someone should post on his for sale thread that trade is pending and something is going on to alleviate sown one else's problem maybe?

I have to respectfully disagree. I won't post because I am not involved. Let me rephrase. OP could since he has an active stake in it and it may (probably would judging by his history) save another member from getting scammed. But I am staying out of it.

After some thought I think you are right. But I do think it would be prudent for a mod to suspend the for sale thread until this is resolved. That would be a more politically correct answer.
 
Here's the thing: The terms of the deal were agreed upon. UrFrndlyNebrhoodS has not lived up to his end of the deal. He needs to rectify it, now. He's got one chance at rectifying his mistake, and that's by immediately shipping the knife that belonged in the empty box.

Listing the same knife for sale in the meantime is 100% wrong.
 
I did post in his for sale ad; I was supposed to receive a Slysz bowie from him, which is what he had posted in that ad for sale.
