What's out there in the 5-7" blade range for production fixed blades?

If money were no object...what would you get?

Production? Hmm does Busse Count? Ferhman? I would get either a
Ranger 7
Rat5 or 7 D2 cuz i like that steel
Busse Hellrazor/SatinJac-Tac/badger/Satin Jack/SHNO/SFNO/ and a few others
Ferhman last chance or first strike
Scrapyard scrapper6 or Dumpster Mutt
Swamprat M6 or Bog Dog or they're new recurve's(they have alot of knvies in this range)
Becker 7
Mad Dog makes an interesting knife in that range
Strider MT, Mark1A, Sniper
Mercworkz Sniper or other line
Cold Steel has many knives in the 5-7 range, recon scout, srk, blackbear classic, military classic
Spyderco/Hossom woodlander or forager
Bark River makes a few knives in that range like the teddy
Benchmade Nimravus
Buck 119, nighthawk
AG russell camp knife, large drop point hunter
One of many different Randall or Blackjack knives
Chris Reeve Neil Roberts Warrior, Mountaineer

The list goes on when we start talking randalls/marbles/Dozier etc. What are you looking to do with it? Any particular steel? And yes I would want to own all these and do own many of them:D

Don't hold back, barrabas74....:D :o :p
(yes, I think Busse would count)

OK...perhaps a broad question....let's narrow it down to your "Top Ten" at most.

criteria:

1 - has to be a serious user. you would bet your life on it.
2 - cost is not an issue
3 - tactical, survival, military....anything that fits that bill
4 - not merely a beater. higher quality stuff preferred (see #2) :D

then i guess you have narrowed it down to one brand at least.......

busse...................

Al Mar Sere Sawback Operator
CRK 5.5 Green beret
SOG Bowie II

Wouldn't pay more for a custom fixed at that length due to diminishing returns for price, and not wanting to scar one up.

In order of preference,

1. Busse SH E
2. SRKW Camp Tramp
3. Busse NO E
4. Busse Badger TAC (currently taking orders)
5. Reserved
6. CS Recon Scout
7. Ranger RD 7
8. CS SRK
9. Becker CU/7
10. Reserved

Probably a Busse Natural Outlaw or Badger. I'd probably take those out and beat them, along with a Reeve mountaineer to see what won out in the prying vs. cutting competition.

My god I left out Fallkniven and SOG:eek:

I would go with Busse, Ranger, Scrapyard, Randall, Swamprat as my fav five and thats just what I like, own, use and come to respect and love. I own many others but dont feel the freedom to abuse them like these knives. I think your gonna see alot of Busse mentioned here and there is a good reason for it.

BUSSE , period!!! Another recommendation would be SWAMP RAT.
If money is not a concern, I would choose any of the following:
Busse Satin Jack Tac (a great tactical / general utility blade. Only through the secondary market.)
Busse BIBB (only about 50 of them were made. Only through the secondary market.)
Busse ST-56 (awesome fighter! Only through the secondary market.)
Busse Desert Mud Razor (a great tactical / general utility blade. Only through the secondary market.)
Busse Hell Razor (a great tactical / general utility blade. Only through the secondary market.)
Busse Euro (a great tactical / general utility blade. Only through the secondary market.)
These are all knives that I happen to own so, I know that they are the real deal! However, I would also recommend the following:

Busse Badger Attack
Swamp Rat Mini Mojo
Swamp Rat Mini Uncle Mojo

No matter which one you choose, I am sure you can't go wrong with any of the above. I hope that helps.

For production:
Ranger RD line, Busse, Scrap Yard, Fehrman.
If money were no object, I would want a Custom knife.

I like this one. :D

If money IS an object... I got the Scrapper 6 and haven't looked back.

I love beating on that thing.
