Production Fixed Blade: 5"-7" What would you get?

Busse, Swamp Rat, Scrapyard, CRK...If money is no object, Busse custom or CRK:thumbup:

I would get a Fehrman, Busse or Ranger knives, as far as production knives go. A Fehrman is next on my list of FB's to buy.

Let's keep it simple.

Busse: HellRazor, SH1, HOGFSH, SFNO, maybe also HHFSH.

Why bother with anything else? [Although SwampRat would also be fine...]

Don't hold back, barrabas74....:D :o :p
(yes, I think Busse would count)

OK...perhaps a broad question....let's narrow it down to your "Top Ten" at most.

criteria:

1 - has to be a serious user. you would bet your life on it.
2 - cost is not an issue
3 - tactical, survival, military....anything that fits that bill
4 - not merely a beater. higher quality stuff preferred (see #2) :D

I can say 2, both Busse. An older Straight Handle Badger Attack which I EDC and a SHSH, which gets used but not as often.

I own more Busse's than that, but that's my top 5" and 7" even over the newer Busse's that cost considerably less (sorta).

I'd be perfectly happy with an Ontario RAT 5 or 7, a Ranger RD6 or 7, a Scrapyard Dumpster Mutt or a Swamp Rat RatManDu.

BUT what I'd pick given the option to would be a Busse. The BATAC is a great nice, but my personal favorite is the SFNO.

Bark River Mountaineer. The blade length was a little less than your range, but it sure felt like a "full sized" knife. Full tang, high-end steel, beautiful amboynia burl handles, and it felt great to hold.

1. Busse SNFO
2. Another Fallkniven S1
3. Bark River Bravo-1
4.Swamp Rat M6
5.Scrapyard Yard Hook

I have to agree with Rob.
Busse SHSH & SHBA.

Busse or Fehrman Knives, both very similar can't go wrong either way, check up on the subtle differences in geometry.
