Sheathing is the same as the RC-4 - Kydex, black, with various mounting holes and adjusting screws. Canvas Micarta handles are removable with a lot of room on the inside. For a size example, you can fit two S&W .40 caliber rounds inside the handles with room to spare.

On the opposite side of the blade, the serial #, Pelton's sig, and RAT USA are engraved. We may also engrave something on the handles. If we do, that will be the only change made to what you see here. The first 250 pieces will be serialized and signed by Pelton and only available through his web site. At a later date we will release the standard version (non signed no serial #) to the dealer network.

We will have production, non-serialized, pieces at the Blade Show as prizes.

Is the handle designed as a storage device?? That would be kick ass. A hollow handled knife with coin slot hardware, you could hollow the handles a bit and fit a little survival kit in there.

That's correct. The handles have been hollowed somewhat to serve as a storage area. Thus the reason for the slotted screws.

I can't tell...are the scales tan or green? The lighting makes it look tan, but that would be different than what we've seen up to this point.

They're green canvas but as well all know, after a couple of weeks in the light they fade to a tan color.

Thanks! I figured that was the case...though I had rather expected the scales to extend a little further up the handle. A nifty piece of work, that's for sure!

This is a must have then. Excellent idea. Finally a hollow handled knife done right.

Now it just needs saw teeth on the back. :D

Wow, that looks like a winner! Better start thinking about what to put in the handle!

Awesome! It's a good thing I got a little overtime this week. Will any of you guys be getting a shot at the first run? Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I read somewhere that you needed a certain number of posts on Pelton's site by a certain date, that has passed, to be able to purchase one from the first batch.

Man, that looks good. I'll definitely have to stop by the RAT booth for the drawings next weekend!

looks great!

any idea when a standard production model will be available? RYP is a great guy, but I would rather keep his initials off my knife :P
