let me guess, there names are tony and dali:D :D

quote: by UFF DA "Well, I certainly learned my lesson. I will never mention another makers knife on this forum even if my comments are complimentry. I guess some folks just don't like seeing their names in print unless they initiate it.
I sense some paranoia here. How else could anyone read anything negative into what has been written here?"

frikin trouble maker, why don't you just keep to porking up infi, now you have caused the gauntlet to be thrown down:eek:

oh well, glad i hogged up some from both of them, should be for a great investment! good luck boys:D :D

Jerry: My comments were not directed to either end but to both and some e mails Angie received while I was gone. I guess you did not understand the nature of the post.

If it is a pissing contest your wish to encourage, I suggest we put all the cards on the table, from some early correspondence to the day I visited your booth at the blade show and you were nursing some blisters on your hand. Think about it!!

Should you wish to get together and work on building something all can enjoy I would be willing.

Well, I didn"t mention any names or point any fingers I guess that the person/persons responding so strongly to this are the one/s that felt in their heart that they were the ones who were slinging the mud. Jerry, do I have to make the knife myself or can I too have it made by a factory? If you reread my post I believe that I clearly stated that I own one of your knives and I didn't say one thing negative about it. Why did you take so much offense to what I wrote?

By the way, ED. It is not a pissing contest he is starting. It is a knife contest "YOU" started.
Please reread his post.

I have been around here as long as most, and am sick and tired of people attacking people who have no reason to be attacked except for emotional reasons. If you really want a "knife on knife" test I "KNOW" Busse Combat (Jerry) will be more than willing to step up. And will repeat any test you have for them. Oh, and they will go easy on you by letting A Swamp Rat knife fight you, not even INFI.

And if you wish to attack me personally
My email is in my profile. Please let me know your thoughts.

Jerry needs no help in getting together and building something.
He has his own ideas and designs that work, and sell very well.

Some of you guys may dislike me because of this post, so what.
I am going to say what I feel, when I feel it, because I can. Why else would AMERICA be so great.

JEFF

I have held off on a reply to this thread because of the rethoric that is flying around. I would like to say thanks to the people that have praised me and my knife making abilities. I would also like to say OK to you others if you would rather have a busse than a Pronghorn so what, Nobody cares certainly not me. I also own a busse knife. It is apparrent that your jelousy has taken over your brain and you feel the need to fling mud at someone. As long as you throw it at me you are leaving others alone.

This is the only part of this thread I didn't get.....

Where the hell did this come from...

I guess when "EVERYONE" is saying you make a quality knife you feel that you need a reach around to go with it!?

Everyone here was supportive and glad Mr. Shipman was prepared and able to apply his survival skills, together with a "quality" knife to save his life.
For that we are all Thankful.

But the rhetoric, jealousy has taken over you brain, and the flinging of mud....???????? Give me a break...:barf:

But you are "NOW" right about one thing, after seeing your response to this thread..."I would rather have a busse than a Pronghorn"

Thanks for saving me some money at Blade this year, maybe I'll get another Fisk or a Fitch instead.

that does it! i'm selling all my knives and joining the seirra club:grumpy:

all extra cash i generate will go to breeding a cross between a skunk and a llama:p :p

Skunk, I want the Satin AK...Thanks;)

OK, all 3 AK's and the UF's with a side of Shark:D

I stand by Ed's knives, Ed's steel, and Jerry Shipman's story---which some of you sound like you doubt.
Cars are not Kenworth trucks.....enough said.

Alright, here's the deal.

I don't see anywhere that anyone doubts the knives, or the story. As for the steel, a couple people posted their opinions, and did so in a pretty non-confrontational or antagonistic way.

Any knife that can cut through a Kenny is a testimony to the design, designer, and maker.

Let's everyone take a step back, and see that this is in fact a lesson in having a quality tool, knowing how to use it, and keeping your head enough get yourself or others out of a bad situation.

If I am missing the "mud slinging", someone please point it out to me.

I am not a knifemaker, though I do have a point to make on this thread. I'm a violinist by profession. I've played factory-made violins (worth a few thousand) and violins of Old Italian Masters. (worth hundreds of thousands and millions) If you compare them you'll see that both play the same notes. One represents an individual who devoted his life to the pursuit and the other set up a system of processes for making instruments. Both do the job, but they are not the same.... One has the authorship and distinction of a truly unique and inspired talent and one is impersonal. That alone accounts for the cost difference between violins and similarly between knives. (Example: William Scagel knife values vs. any production knives)
I don't know if Jerry Busse would see the value in challenging a well respected maker to a performance test unless he felt he could make a buck off of trying to defame someone else's good name. I don't find that to be honorable. Especially since he's perhaps borrowed an idea or two from that maker himself.
Thanks,
David

If you want to get to the point. A Busse knife will do anything that any other knife will. PERIOD. BECAUSE OF THE STEEL. PERIOD. And this is the Busse forum, open to any and all who would like to challenge. I would personally like to beat any knife as hard as a construction worker does for three or four hours a day with a hammer and see and feel the results in my hand. Heck do it yourself. Buy a Busse and beat it along with your knife as long and as hard as you want, untill one breaks. Have fun, the Busse will probably spank you. No surprise. It is the steel. PERIOD.

Jeff-- period.

Hate me if you want I don't care:barf:

hello david, wecome to the fight is right, you are now contestant number five, take a seat and they will call your number in a minute:D :D ;)

I think I noticed something that I may have missed before. Is it possible that all this animosity has been cause by something that occured off of this forum? I noticed something in Ed's last post that may give a clue. He mentioned e-mail to Angie. I wrote to her twice, but I think I was polite and said nothing negative about Ed's or Bill's knives. I just tried to explain my position.

I wonder if some of the trolls that plague the internet wrote to her trying to stir the pot. It has happened before. I just hope it wasn't a regular on this forum.

I re-read all the early posts in this thread and found nothing offensive except maybe the deli llamas. (Sorry about that.)

I would love to see a competition. I think that all would agree that it would be informative and fun! That is unless you are the one going up against a Busse. (Jerry, take off the gloves. Throw the INFI at 'em.):p
