propane prices

I pay between $2.50 and $3.20 per gallon delivered, with about a $6 delivery fee. The company lets me use a 420lb tank as long as I buy $70 or more per year, but I need to upgrade to a 2100lb tank within 6 months.

For making damascus I pay about $6 per hour in propane costs.

What kind of pressures you guys running with natural gas? At my house the regulator tops out below 1/2 psi (9'' of WC).

Yup, One-inch line is sufficient. Since the pressures are low (much lower than propane), you make up for it with volume. I have a one-inch line from the main and it splits off with one-inch lines to each apparatus. I can run them all at once if I want (a forge, two high-temp salt pots and two 'low' temp), and the reach heat fine, no issues at all.
Eric is right!--you will need to change orifices in some propane burners.
